Wow, 5 minutes is very good, usually takes me about twenty.
Anyway, not everyone experiences the same hypnagogic hallucinations, the sensation that you felt as your bed was spinning was yours. Mine are auditory, for example.
It could have been one of two things: either you were in the dream but you didn't realize it(false awakening), in which case you should have done a reality check as soon as you "woke up", or you just didn't complete the phases of the WILD and got up too soon.
For an inexperienced person, I'd say this is normal. The WILD is usually not the first technique that beginners try, as it is pretty difficult to master. Continue the technique as long as you'd like, if you feel that it suits you. After a while though, it's best to try something else. But if I were you, I'd keep at the WILD, being that you were able to enter sleep paralysis in 5 minutes.
You may/may not experience the imagery as part of your experience, but if you do, you probably didn't this time because you moved before the WILD had finished.
