New and lucid dreams for years?

Hi I stumbled across this website after googling dreams!

I have been puzzled all my life and just realized I have the Internet to go look for answers.

I am a 48 year old male and have been having sleep paralysis since a very small child.

This terrified me for the most of my life until i learned how to relax and that I wasn't going to die!

Since that time as soon as I start to feel like an on off pressure sound in my ears and head while going to sleep I know I am drifting off into a dream.

I have been able to semi control these dreams for around 10 years,I know i am dreaming but I am still awake sort of?

once i feel the pressure rush trigger I fly out of my body and then do what ever i want,I actually just fly out forward like superman flying lol.

I can also bring these dreams on by clenching my back teeth hard and making the pressure sound which triggers the drifting sensation.

      Is this lucid dreaming?

All I know is that it feels so real and i can remember everything from the drifting off to the actions in my dream.

I just cant believe that i can make anything happen!

I can come to a complete rushing jolt back to reality at any time but have found that if I concentrate on feeling giddy in the head that I can stay in the dream.

I am so excited that there may be some who can explain what is happening to me!

This only happens 3 of 4 times a year now but when it does I continue for the next few nights bringing the dreams on myself.

Sounds a bit like a WILD.

A lucid dream is technically only knowing you are dreaming, so if you did that, you had a lucid!

I would suggest looking through some of the tutorials.

      Particularly, Dream Control, and WILD

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here, or send me a private message at any time.

Yes i had one last night, that is how i ended up finding this forum!

I actually thought it was vivid dreams but since I feel that i am awake almost it may be lucid dreaming?

I am so excited about this forum that i have jumped right in which may have been a mistake?

When I feel myself drift off off sink slowly into the bed I know that i am dreaming,my eyes are open and i can see my bedroom, but i can just fly off, usually very close to the ground.i can sort of make anything happen!

I know that i am asleep because my bedroom and house is not quite right when I am looking out, and there are people there who could not possibly be there, and of course when i do fully wake i am still in bed.

This has caused me many years of terror and am still a bit scared even though I am in control a bit.

I thought it may be interesting to relay some of my trigger points that sets it all off.

And also get some explanation of what is happening.

I havent read any of the topics but just come in in the newby section.

I just had a read on OBE an not sure if it is that?

I have never looked back at myself sleeping? Although I know that I am dreaming and still in bed?

Years ago I just used to wake up totally paralyzed and in a total panic trying to scream and move my body until I broke out of it and actually awoke even though i already thought I was awake.

Now I just go with the flow until I decide to go do something of my choice.

Usually it takes place in a different part of the house after i have flown down the hallway?

Only once have i had a type of OBE,which felt the same but was different,on that occasion I flew well above my house and was looking down at my roof but I could only get so high before I couldn't go any further, this was more like a dream but made me feel very good and calm?

I know this may be the wrong forum and need to do a lot of reading to see what is actually happening to me.

Lucid or vivid, I am glad I stumbled across this forum just to maybe get some answers as my GP just brushed it aside as stress.

I have no experience with out of body experiences...

I would say thats what the "textbook" definition sounds like.

Okay, let me clear some things up here.

These things you're having? Dreams. Normal, run of the mill dreams. Except you're consious. Almost like you're awake. This is exactly what a lucid dream is. The only difference is that you go directly from awake to dreaming without "falling asleep." When you hear people talking about WILDs? That's what you're doing. It's just harder for most people, because we can't use those pressure points in our ears.

So basically, yeah, it's a normal LD. Have fun! Don't be freaked out! Though your method for acheiving it is different, what you are experiencing is completely normal.

One last thing. You seem to be freaked out that you always "wake up" in your bedroom. Don't be. You see, dreams are what you expect them to be. You closed your eyes in your bedroom, then "opened" them a minute or two later, so your mind will obviously still expect to be in your bedroom. Therefore, the dream takes place there.

What if I told you that I am dreaming right now?
That your whole life is a lie?
That the laws of physics as you know them are incorrect?

Furthermore, what would you do if I told you I'm going to wake up as soon as you finish reading my signature?

Beats me. I've never heard of someone falling asleep in that manner before, so I can't tell you why it happens.

Perhaps it is just all vivid dreams?

All i know is that it can feel so real and becomes a memory, not like a normal dream that you can forget soon after getting up and doesn't make much sense.

This may just be because i made the things happen so remember it as if it really did?

I can still remember all the dreams i have been in control of ,before that it was just terror.

I know if I try to bring it on I can somtimes do it,but never think about it until it happens.
