with me listening to any type of music is destructive as im a very light sleeper the information i get through the ears ends up in my dream, anoyingly although funny at times

the musics im guessing you want to relax you well do the most relaxing things you can think of slowly and in good time

maybe a heavy sleepyer will know more (if it works like that)

Hey mleb, welcome to the forums.

I'm sure as far as music goes it is different for everyone so try it out and see what works. I know that I can sleep listening to anything because I often fall asleep listening to my mp3 quite alot. It has seemed to help me recall my dreams better because hearing the music and having earbuds in seems to make me wake up in the middle of the night in the middle of dreams.

One thing I've noticed is that when you wake up slowly while listening to music the music sounds completely amazing for some reason. It's that half awake state where you're confused and music seems to amplify the good feelings.

So to answer your question I would say that it would at least be worth a shot to try some different things. One warning I would give though is to be careful how you hear the music. If you wear headphones of some sort be safe with them so you don't strangle yourself with the cord in the middle of the night. I wear earbuds and put my mp3 player down towards my feet a ways that way the chance of the cord wrapping around my neck would be minimized.

and Yes, you will sleep deeper because you are relaxed which will suppress your REM slightly, suppressing your REM for a while makes later REM cycles longer and more vivid.

alright , ok well i just started last night and took my dream down . my friend told me about his first WILD and how he had an OBE , so it inspired me to research and start working towards having some sort of LD . so i guess what i'm getting at is there any tips that would be handy with the process . I am keeping a Dream Journal now to build up my Dream recall . but is there anything else i should be doing??
