How do u realize you are dreaming but not go lucid? I thought being lucid meant you realize you are dreaming.

You realized you were dreaming. You were lucid.

Please use proper grammar/punctuation, it's much easier to understand and help you.

Be sure that you sincerely reality check every time you do. Read through Shift's RC tut to learn more about it.

I have been through these. I went through a phase of this happening for about 5 straight times of checking myself, and not fully becoming lucid. I have learned that my problem was that it had been a simple chore during my days and never gave it thorough consideration when I did my checks.
From then on, I changed my ways. Now, when I do reality checks, I consider the possibilities before going through with plugging my nose(My RC of choice). You and others, should REALLY consider what you are doing with these reality checks, and realize that even though you already think you're not dreaming, it is just as likely that you COULD be. I gauge the "reality" around me before I plug my nose, and tell myself how important this test will be, and if I can breathe, I AM LUCID, and have my own freedom. After the test, I think of exactly what just happened, again, and sort of replay it in my mind, and pretty much tell myself if I am dreaming or not, while I remember what just happened when I did this reality check.
I like to extend my reality checks for about ten seconds, and just allow myself to fully perceive averything. It is no longer a simple check while reading a book. I devote all my thoughts to the reality check at that point, and pay attention to it.
Sorry for my wordiness. (Add smile)

I have not yet failed a reality check after implementing this myself.

I hate when people say that without consideration!
he wasn't really lucid, if so, then he wouldn't post the question on this forum!
when people doubt, it's always about low lucidity or a false lucid dream....

If you understood that it was a dream, then you were lucid. It's quite possible to dream that you are lucid (see Mariano's obsession with so called 'false-lucid dreams' to be further confused on this simple subject), but I'm wondering if your idea of a lucid dream is not the basic definition of a lucid dream? As long as you realize it's a dream, you're lucid- no matter of un-vivid, unrealistic, low-control, and low logic you yourself are. Did you actually know that you were in a dream? If so you were lucid dreaming. If you did not, you were not lucid dreaming. It sounds like you got to that hazy questioning point, hence the reality check, so you probably really were lucid, especially since you said you were thinking and telling yourself this after a RC.

Remember, RCs can fail. Always try to use memory checks and at least a few RCs. A failed RC does not mean that you are not in a dream, so never assume it does (though it sounds like you didn't let yourself be fooled). Make sure to thoroughly establish that you are in real life before giving up.

      it's not a obsession..
we can know that we are dreaming...
then we can understand we are dreaming and come lucid(no matter how much of awareness..like you said)...
