      Ah!

Just joined today but i've spent the guts of the last two days doing some research. I discovered LDing when i got bored and spontaneously searched for "weird dreams" on google. It began when a site started telling me about dream recall. I found this incredibly interesting, cause like in my short life i've known about dreams, i've had them (obviously) and i've told others about them, but i've just being taking them in my stride! i never questioned the fact that seemingly random events could occur in my own mind, and simply by reading through this site, i've remembered lots of dreams! For a second i remembered a LD that was a few seconds (where nothing happened, can't remember now) and i'm completely amazed at all this.

Rite now im thinking "WOW! the possibilities seem endless and i can't wait to experience it!" but at the same time, a more pessimistic side of me says this is ridiculous. Why doesn't everyone know about this? The ability to explore the depths of your imagination, something people would pay millions to do, is hidden from the world! Immediately dismissed by skeptics and over religous types. From just yesterday a world i didn't no existed opened up... And it was there all along? Dam im confused...

      Oh yeah, Hello everyone

I printed every tutorial i found I feel far more comfortable reading long articles on a page than on a computer don't no why! Another reason why this interests me is because i have always been mystified by memory and amnesia and such.... whats a better example than dreaming! Like if you dream and you forget the dream its as if it never happened!

Welcome to Dreamviews and Enjoy the site It's got a ton of information, dreams and the different techniques that one can use to induce a LD. As for your question "Why doesn't everyone know about this?", it's simple, those who know try to tell others about it when they get the opportunity but it usually gets dismissed as something that's crazy, impossible, unnatural, etc.... I think LDing is wonderful having only experienced one myself and it was short, but, its potential for both spiritual(finding more about yourself) and physical development is huge. I mean who wouldn't love to fly, dive underwater, etc.... along with feeling all the sensations but still be safe from whatever danger exists in these stunts

Glad to see another enthusiastic LDer!
As for your pesomistic side, just think about it: Do you really think all these hundreds of members have been lying to each other this whole time? Who would bother spending their time on some BS site that they know exists just to draw in those crazy "dream" folk, when they know themselves LDing doesn't exist?

*Guy in the back raises his hand* >.>

In any case, sounds like you're off to a good start with your increased recall. Y'know, some people have beginner's luck and have their first LD just because they discovered the site. Just knowing lucid dreaming is possible greatly increases your chances of having one.

What if I told you that I am dreaming right now?
That your whole life is a lie?
That the laws of physics as you know them are incorrect?

Furthermore, what would you do if I told you I'm going to wake up as soon as you finish reading my signature?

Hey man, great to see someone new that is so passionate about it as you are. Good luck to you

The pessimistic side: I've told all of my friends about lucid dreaming. Everybody has been at least a bit interested, but most of them are too lazy to make an effort to actually get lucid dreams, or even to remember their dreams. Only one of them has actually made an effort and is now also lucid dreaming on a regular basis and thinks it's amazing.

The world is a strange place, and people are lazy. There you have it, my explanation for the global ignorance about this unusual but amazing subject

I suppose Lucid Dreaming can be compared to voting in that sense, ha, unfortunately your explanation is a perfect fit

I too wonder why lucid dreaming isn't huge. It would be alot more fun if there were more people to share your experiences with..

      Anyway, welcome to the site!
Hope you're inspired to achieve lucidity, and if you remain as eager as you are now I'm sure you'll be lucid in no time.

      See you around
