      influencing dream topic?

I want to ask if there is any way to influence what your dream is about pre-sleeping? like by reading a book or something you would dream about being in the book? I would really like to know because there's this one book that I like that I wish I could go into. ...weird.

Searching this topic lead me to lucid dreaming. It is better to just lucid dream about the topic and then lose lucidity or keep it when you have the dream perfect.

I found autosuggestion infinately helpful for this. As you're going to sleep say to yourself, "I will dream about ____" Repeat it, focus on it...

      It helped me.

Dreams are made partially of what you were thinking about when you went to sleep, so yes, reading a book or watching a movie would help. However, I would think that you would have more influence if you did it right before you dreamt (WBTB style)

I've just been watching a bunch of tornado videos to try and incubate more tornado dreams.( Hopefully tonight.) I've been doing pretty well recognizing tornadoes as dreamsigns. And I've been getting more tornado dreams lately. Probably because the season is coming up fast.

I'm new here and i have never truly had a lucid dream, but as i often find it hard to sleep a reliable technec i use is to day dream in bed eventually drift off to sleep, now that i have started my dream journal i have noticed most of the times the day dream ends up staying on my mind and i dream about what ever i day dreamed. Some things that happens to me 100% is if i have been doing some thing all day, for example play a new game all day. but good luck for finding the answer.

Very interesting, but I do not think that this is possible.
      1. Book itself is somebody’s dream line (of a writer).
      2. When you have LD you are creator of a dream line that will not be the same as #1
So I just assume that you do not want the same line as your book has, but to steal characters and an idea and enjoy of your own movie during the night - very complicated for a regular LDreamer, at least for me. In this case I prefer just build such imaginations in my head during the day or before going to bed - more control for the "good end".
