Hi, first of all i'm new to the site by about 3 or 4 weeks now and haven't had massive success in lucid dreaming; only on the night that i discovered this website and was able to lucid dream quite vividly! However last night i experienced something that had never happened to me before. I was lying in bed, quite tired, for about half an hour after i stopped watching tv. I was very comfortable and very tired and was just seemed to be enjoying the fact that i was about to doze off. I reached the point where i coudl barely distinguish between reality and the dream world, when i drifted off to sleep. At that exact moment, i rose up (in my dream) from my bed, only to look down on myself sleeping. Everything was exactly the same in my bedroom. Nothing was different from when i had left it. This all became a little scary to me and things began to seem quite blurry. I shouted for my Dad (still dreaming), for about 10-20 seconds, who then entered my room. I asked him repeatedly to wake me up but he just stood there beside me in my peripheral vision. After consistently shouting, but also knowing i was dreaming, i tried to calm myself down. i began to sink back into my sleeping self, lying on the bed. Once i had fully laid down i woke up completely.

I found this quite scary as it has never happened to me before, but the main thing that scared me is the fact thta i couldn't get out of it.

I was wondereing if anyone could give me some insight on what really happend? Also, any tips on trying to induce this experience once more so thta i can confront it head on and initiate a lucid dream from it (without being scared!)

Thanks very much
