      Greetings from a Noob

      Hi Everyone

I’m new to the forum but not that new to LD. I’ve been having them since I was very young but just naturally (i.e. DILD) – a lot of the time it would happen during a flying dream (I used to have frequent flying dreams). I guess flying is a really good Dream Sign and therefore I would quickly realize that it was impossible and become lucid. I then read a few books and toyed around with trying to induce them during high school but never really stuck to it. Hence the reason for joining this community – to learn more and get some inspiration to have more LDs.

I’ve been lurking on the forum for a few days just reading some threads and FILD caught my eye so I think I’ll start there. Sounds like pretty successful technique.

      Hey welcome to the forum.

I guess this will be easy for you, since you are a natural.
You could try WILD as a challenge.

Lol! I didn't mean to come across as bragging. I have a lot to learn and I think this is the perfect place to do so.

Hey there, I am new as well.

I have been able to control some of my dreams since I was about a teenager. It started with concentrating hard on running properly in my dream, because I could remember how frustrating it was when your legs would not work. After a time I got much better at it and could run faster than I would in real life. Sometimes I would walk around thinking it was cool I was in a dream.

I even realized once I was having a nightmare and said to myself "Ok, I dont want to be here anymore", and thought myself awake

For years I never thought much about them, but I have had some pretty wild dreams over the past year, and have been able to remember much detail in a lot of them, so I was curious about learning more.

      Hi JuneBug

Yeah, I think we have all had lucid dreams before (especially when we were young) and we just don't remember them.

I also have those dreams of trying to run but my legs feel like lead weights. It's frustrating!

If you know what it feels like to know that you are dreaming then you should try the FILD method (just do a search for FILD - there are tons of posts about it). I managed to get lucid on my second attempt (early hours of this morning). Really cool technique because it works really fast and you don't have to do reality checks the whole time. Check it out.

Welcome, Silver Surfer! No worries, you didn't come across as bragging. You'd be surprised as to how many naturals we have here on this site; I didn't even know it was possible to be a natural! Your a lucky one =D. Anyway, it seems like your off to a great start. Have you checked out our tasks of the month thread yet? It's a good way to get to know some people in the community a little faster, esp. cause you get little rewards if you complete one of the tasks =p

Do you keep a dream journal? That would be an excellent place for you to REALLY kick your Lucid Dreaming into high gear.

      Thanks Styler

I'll check out the tasks of the month when I start having more consistent LDs - thanks for pointing that out though. Looks interesting.

I do have a dream journal but it sits next to my bed and is not online. It does help a lot. Only problem is finding the time to write it all down. I remember at least one dream per night and they are quite detailed.
