      Smile hello

Hello there I'm extremely new to lucid dreaming (have only had 3 but were hazy). I have lots of questions,

      1. The only abbreviations i know of are, WILD, DILD, and RC so a list would be nice thanks

      2. How to stabilize/prolong a lucid dream (make it more vivid/realistic)

      3. How to properly WILD.

      4. In the last lucid dream i had i could use dragon ball Z powers but it was very very hazy near end.

      5. How i control my dream i visualize whats going to happen then i do a hand movement and it happens, any better ways of controlling?

      6. I don't mean to brag or be cocky or anything but my brain seems complex, because i did a RC of counting my fingers in one LD and the next one my brain fixed it, as if it doesn't want me to have a LD?

      7. Would saying to myself before i go to sleep "Tonight i will have a lucid dream" help?

      8. Should i get a lucid dream mask? can only spend $400

      9. My mind seems very very random so as i dream random stuff appear i lose track of what I'm doing i cant focus on one thing for a while unless I'm 100% committed so that's one of the obstacles for me.

      10. This isn't a question just saying that i am pretty good at dream recall so i don't think i need a dream journal.

Thank you for your time and sorry if some of this has been covered (only skimmed through forum). Once again thanks .

      Sorry for the uncapitalized I's

No worries, we all started out new

      1. The only abbreviations i know of are, WILD, DILD, and RC so a list would be nice thanks
      DV DICTIONARY
      2. How to stabilize/prolong a lucid dream (make it more vivid/realistic)
      DREAM STABILIZATION AND VIVIDNESS TUTORIAL
      3. How to properly WILD.
There's no proper way to do it. There are the 'official' dv tutorials, and then there are 10 zillion different ways to do it.
WILD tutorial, SP tutorial, DEILD tutorial TWIN/ONE BODY TECHNIQUE, VILD tutorial

      4. In the last lucid dream i had i could use dragon ball Z powers but it was very very hazy near end.
Sometimes this happens. Remember to keep reality checking and stabilizing during your dream. If you have questions about dream control, read through this forum and these tutorials: 1 2 3 4
      5. How i control my dream i visualize whats going to happen then i do a hand movement and it happens, any better ways of controlling?
Whatever works for you. Reading ^ should help a bit.
      6. I don't mean to brag or be cocky or anything but my brain seems complex, because i did a RC of counting my fingers in one LD and the next one my brain fixed it, as if it doesn't want me to have a LD?
This is fairly typical, you're not more complex than the average person. This is precisely why you should always do more than one reality check
      7. Would saying to myself before i go to sleep "Tonight i will have a lucid dream" help?
This is the autosuggestion technique. It's not recommend that you use this particular phrasing, as failure will result in lowered morale. Instead, merely suggest to yourself that it will happen in due time, and be expectant and excited.
      8. Should i get a lucid dream mask? can only spend $400
No. Learn to lucid dream first, then waste your money when you are in a position to really decide if you want/need one or not.
      9. My mind seems very very random so as i dream random stuff appear i lose track of what I'm doing i cant focus on one thing for a while unless I'm 100% committed so that's one of the obstacles for me.
      Learn to focus.
      10. This isn't a question just saying that i am pretty good at dream recall so i don't think i need a dream journal.
Keep one anyway or never, ever complain about low clarity or crappy memories of the details of your lucids.

      2. This is tough to say. For me, it helps to continually be doing things. I don't stop to think about my goals or slow down to concentrate on keeping my dream world in tact. I go from action to action, which keeps me focused on the environment as well as immersed in the action. So that works for me.

      5. Well, for me, I find visualizing things and then doing them to be damaging to the dreams stability. (That's just me.) I just do it as I think to do it. You don't visualize picking up your hairbrush. You just... do it. There is no reason, in a dream, that flying should be any different. For one example. You have no body, so it should be just as easy to fly as to walk. So... I've stopped vizualizing flying. I just fly.

      6. For some people, not all RCs work. (I find the finger one to be a poor RC for me as well.) As far as your mind stopping you from lucidity, it seems this is a pretty common problem. It has to do with mindset, I think. A more positive mindset in general may create a mind more nurturing towards lucid dreaming.

      7. That's called a mild. And saying it over an over again, like a mantra, has been very beneficial to me as well as other members on this site. At the very least, it gets your mind thinking about lucid dreams. At the most, it will increase your confidence greatly and induce a quality LD.

      8. I wouldn't. It may become a crutch/be a total waste of money.

      9. Getting focused is largely overcome by training your mind.

      10. Never stop keeping a dream journal. It can't hurt, plus it's fun to re-read old dreams. Especially lucids.

EDIT: Hehe. Didn't see ya' Shift. Yeah, lucidwannbe, what she said. Hehe.
