What good is a lucid dream if you can't remember it? |

I don't really get if this is a troll post or not I mean it's kinda obvious. What's the fun in lucid dreaming if you can't remember them in the first place? |
lol i know it sounds kinda silly but ive been reading so much about it that some how i had a shutdown (literally) |
haha, well try not to stress yourself out! It's a very exciting topic though ^^ |
Also helps you find dream signs, if you don't know of common themes, then you won't do a reality check then. |
You use the memory of your last dream to MILD and to DEILD (via VILD). |
Might aswell post this here, as it is semi relevant. |
That is nearly impossible to know. |
I'm having some trouble with this. I mean, if I had the first lucid dream of my life, wouldn't I just naturally remember it? You mean I could have been completely aware, estactic that I was dreaming and done all this amazing stuff, and then forgotten that I'd lucid dreamed? |

You might forget if you lose lucidity. If you are lucid, then your dream goes non-lucid for the rest of your REM period, you might not remember the whole thing as clearly. |
(You can dream in NREM too. You don't only dream in REM.) |
I had a LD last week which I almost didn't remember... I woke up... hmmm.. couldn't recall any dreams. I went to the bathroom and I suddenly got a glimpse of a reality-check during my dreams - and WHAM!!! I remembered most of my lucid dream with great detail. If I wasn't used to recalling dreams I would never had got a glimpse of what opened up the "gates" to the rest of the dream. |
Well, if you can't remember your dreams, what is the point of having a lucid dream. Shift and ninja's points were also very valid, and for me, when recall is good, vividness is much better. I tend only to acheive a DILD in vivid dreams, so it helps very much for my LD count. |

Haven't had a lucid dream in 3 years, and I'm looking to get back into it.
Why would you want to lucid dream if you can't remember it? Also to interpret them. |
Eh, in my opinion, interpretation is useless. I have dreams about donkey kong and magic ghosts... there isnt any book that can interpret that. |
