Hey I'm new here I've always loved the idea of being able to control your own dreams, and until searching around on google, I've found out that these type of dreams are actually called lucid dreams. I have had a few of these before and I loved them.

I was reading this site yesterday aswell as another article on how to tell your body to go to sleep. So I was trying the technique yesterday where you lie on your back with your hands by your sides and your feet slightly apart. I layed there for about 40-60 minutes and I felt the urge to put my hands on my chest, or move them. But I resisted the urge as directed by the article. I kept telling myself to "remember my dreams when I woke up" and I actually felt myself start to drift off a few times. But every time that happened I got really excited about dreaming and my heart started beating quite fast since I was fully conscious at the time and so I didn't drift off, I just went back to lying there again. I was also quite scared of falling asleep while I was fully conscious. After about 40-60 minutes I suddenly started to feel really really hot and so I had to move my hands to pull the covers off my chest to cool myself down. I changed position to lie on my side with my legs bent in the most comfortable way possible and shortly afterwards I fell asleep. I then awoke at about 1am - 2am and I could remember having a dream. I couldn't remember the details of it but I remember waking up, within the dream, and looking round to see my room messy, it was littered with wierd shapes, and then I woke up for real. I prompty wrote this down in my dream journal, and then went back to sleep.

When I awoke the next morning I had remembered my "main" dream I was so happy I began retracing my steps in the dream and wrote quite alot about the dream. I was very pleased with myself as I do not usually remember my dreams.

I am glad to be a member of this community as I really want to progress in this skill and meet lots of like-minded people.
