      Talking Hi, i'm Clock Worker.

Hello all, I have been viewing the website and the forum for the past three days. I have had DILD's every once and awhile in my life time, starting ever sense I was a little kid. I always knew they were great, but I never knew that you could do so much with them until I came across this website. So ever sense I got here I have been starting a small dream journal and reading up on techniques and other things.

I would also like to note that this morning I woke up frusterated because I totally forgot what my dream was about and that I did not have a LD. but it was early in the morning so I decided to go back to sleep. and BAM! had one. problem was I got excited and felt the dream world start to fade, but thanks to the tips I was able to stay there and do some cool things like fly on my first try. I also had a FA at the end but I accepted that and did not do a RC and continued on my dream.

So anyways, hello all... I hope to tell you all more if I do infact get more lucid dreams.

Hey, welcome Sounds like you have done a bit of reading in the past few days, which is awesome. That on top of your natural lucid skill will help you learn to become lucid more often and do some of those more exciting things You seem to know your way around and everything, but if you've got any questions ask away- I'm sure you know by now we're all happy to help

      And, cool name btw

I did like reading all the material around here, I was surprised this morning when most of it actually worked! in the past it my DILD's were usually about 1 a year, so I have yet to be that great at it. I don't know if me having a LD this morning had to do with all the searching on this website, or me doing RC's and writing in a DJ. I am also still not that great at LD's yet, when I was flying I had problems with it where I could not force myself to go faster or I would just loose control and smash into stuff. Is that me lacking the ability to realize I am dreaming and that I can control everything?

also thanks for the comment on the name, I can say the same for yours.

Heh, it reminds me of A Clockwork Orange. Fantastic book, if you haven't read it.

As far as control and being able to induce lucid dreams, I think that being able to induce them makes you more familiar, which makes control easier. But I don't think that you have to be able to induce them regularly in order to have good control. To me, control is more about understanding that in a dream, there are no reasons for things to act in a certain way, so there's no reason for the dream not to obey and do what you want it to do.

      I recommend these on control:

I very much apreciate the tutorials you have given me. The first tutorial helped me out ALOT actually, this is because I always try to force control in my dreams, so as stated they always seem less vivid and sometimes I just wake up. It also showed me that I can do all the things I want to in a passive controled dream that I would do in a forced control one.

Though I do admit the second tutorial (combining all of the other 4) got me confused at some points in time, but it still provided me with some useful information.

Thank you very much for the tutorials Shift!

      Sure thing
Keep in mind that the majority of the things you're going to read on this site are simply peoples' ideas based on their own dreams, not strict laws. Billybob makes a lot of claims, but none of them have ever actually been put to the test. I'm not saying that he's wrong all of the time, just that he's not right all of the time. I force control in my dreams a lot, and they remain stable. So while you're reading through the forums, try to keep in mind that the person who wrote it is probably just another person sitting on just another computer, writing. This doesn't make what they say false, but it does mean that unless it's based on actual research, you should be wary of anyone claiming facts or that something about dreaming is a certain way. Some people can read in dreams, see digital clocks that don't change, have sex without waking up, use electronics, whatever, without a problem. Letting yourself be limited by something you read writte by some random person on the internet might just end up causing actual limitations simply based on your expectations. Don't limit yourself by what someone said on some thread, but instead just keep an open mind, realize that in your dreams there are millions of possibilities, that no average-joe making stuff up could know the answers, and keep experimenting and exploring and see what works for you!

Ah, thank you for the advice.

Also I am very annoyed now that I have to wait until night to fall asleep. I very much want to explore all this stuff out some more! And I also know there is a chance that I won't gain any lucidity tonight.
