      It keeps playing

First of all hi guys im new to this forum I just started to learn about LD and no i didnt have one yet but i know im gonna hehe. I just wanted to say hi and also sare something that happened in my dream today, its nothing much though.

Before i went to nap i put to play on my winamp subliminal lucid 3.0 song, i play it sometimes when i sleep. And today it played while i was napping, i dreamt that i was at work and listening to this subliminal lucid song and boss who sat near me asked me to turn it down

And guess what despite i turned down volume nothing happened, i turned off winamp it still played, i turned off my PC it still didnt stop i guess because it still was playing in real life while i was sleeping

Hehe, welcome and that's a pretty funny dream experience! Sounds like you might know the good settings for an EILD technique. The volume must've been just right to make it into your dream but not wake you up. Although, I've heard songs in my sleep that were 100% accurate but not actually playing, so it's also possible the whole thing was dreamed! Either way, as you work on getting those lucids definitely maybe look more into the EILD technique!

Devices commonly fail in dreams, but I agree with shift.

Every time I try EILD, it wakes me up. I use my cell phone, though, so there aren't many sound level options.
Haven't had a lucid dream in 3 years, and I'm looking to get back into it.

I didn't mean music via device, but just music playing as an ambient sound.

      Hey welcome.

Well have you ever tried reality checking or saying to yourself that you will reality check everytime you hear this song? I never practiced EILD but thats how I'd imagine it would work.

Now that you say that, I'm not even sure what I meant.

No, that isn't it. Maybe I was sleepwalking...

Edit: Oh, I was going to say that his mind constructed the song, and the device (his winamp) failed, like lightswitches do. That is why he couldn't turn it off.
