      Have I finally....?

Been reading LD and trying for years (at least 30!). This morning I dreamed I was riding a horse quite fast. I'm a v poor rider and don't go that fast so it was odd. Then I noticed there were no reins. I crouched down jockey style and told the horse we can go this speed because it's only a dream, and horse turned its head back at me and winked. But then I woke up. No flying, nowt.

How convinced were you that it was a dream at the time? If you know in your heart that you knew it was a dream, then i believe you were lucid. Have you been trying for 30 years with no success? Or have you been very half hearted about it?

Its a long time for no successes... Maybe you should reassess your techniques and how you approach the dream world in your mind. You need to believe with your whole mind that this is no joke and that eventually you will be lucid in a dream. I wish i could give you some more advice. But after 30 years trying i assume youve tried every induction technique and every meditation technique and every dream recall trick, and still nothing until now?

Mmm, yes well, trying off and on over 30 years. Forgetting about it for long periods when nothing happens until something sparks the interest again. But then isn't that also a valid technique, to try hard then forget about it and let the brain do its own work - it's advised in many magickal practices (even Buddhism!).
