      Newbie hotline

      Hi gang!

I've been thinking about doing this for a little while now. Since we seem to have more people wanting to be adopted than people willing to adopt, I would like to start up a newbie hotline.

This topic will allow people who are willing, to provide help or answers to specific questions that a newbie might not feel comfortable asking on the open forum.

By making a post in this topic, you are stating that you are willing to be contacted via PM, IM, or whatever methods you specify. Please use this topic only to post your availability. If you want to discuss this, do so in feedback or another topic.

      I'll begin with my post:

Hi, my name is Seeker (duh). I have been lucid dreaming for 13 years now. I usually have 3-4 lucid dreams a week (when I am getting more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night that is! grrrrr.)

I am familiar with most of the induction techniques. I can MILD and WILD.
I am also intersted in meditational and suggestion aids such as BWGEN.
I know they are sometimes needed, but I really don't like things like NOVA and LD goggles. I feel the ability to have lucid dreams resides in every one of us.

In my dreams, I have pretty good control. I can fly, summon things, manipulate matter a little, and get stains out of carpet =P

I have often described myself as a Christian Mystic. My core beliefs are Christian, but I am the first to agree that there are many nuggets of truth out there in other beliefs as well.

I am in my 40's *sigh*, but am still young at heart.

If anyone has a question they are not getting answered on the forum, or one that you are afraid to ask on the open forum, please give me a yell.

I can be PM'd or e-mailed anytime. I am on YIM sometimes during the day and on AIM on occasion.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I'm Techboy. I have been lucid dreaming for about 2 months, and don't have many lucid dreams currently. I am better with the theory side of things (as in I know how I should do it, and could answer questions about it, but I can't do it).

I also enjoy a bit of Off-Topic stuff.

      Only PM me.

      Q for reading.

I'm 16 years old. I've been interested in dreams all my life, especially the last eight months. I've read a lot about lucid dreaming (so far I've had two... ). I'm also into dream interpretation.

Feel free to PM me, email me, or AIM me.

      Hi, I'm nightowl.

I'm 16 years old and I feel I am pretty knowledgable about Lucid dreaming. I've read a lot of topics here and was one of the first that joined this site. I've had enough Lucid dreams where I lost count, but still need to work on my techniques. Feel free to ask me anything. I am here a lot and wouldn't mind answering some questions.

I'm O'nus. I also now use the nick name Kyros on messenger services. My real name is Michael.

I have been studying neuroscience and psychology for a good portion of my last couple years (day after day, I love this stuff). So I can help with any questions about drugs, physiological inquistions, or simply talk about stuff going on in life.

I am not a reductionist - I believe the human spirit is the biggest influence on us all.

I am more than willing to talk on any messenger service (a lot more than pming or emails..) as long as you don't ask me over and over again, the same questions about the samething over and over again (you know who you are if you are reading this: YES THAT IS NORMAL).

MSN: [email protected] (yes, it's real)
      YIM: mk_onus (Kyros)

Really need someone to talk to? Feel free to even call me (it's on your bill.. so I don't mind, lol) just pm me, and I'll give the number (I move around often, so I cannot give one specific number to reach me).

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hey I'm TheUnknown (aka joe, but forget that). I'm 16. I've been lucid dreaming as long as I can remember. I tracked down this site when i spontaneously lost the ability to go lucid and my dream recall, It appears i am regaining it again though. My dream recall is about normal for myself now (5-10 dreams a night). I'll let everyone know when I am back to being 100%.

But as for dream control and a few extra stuff, I am excellent. I can do anything, fly, move shit with my mind. I don't believe in induction by drugs although b6 is a pretty good helper. Don't like to be PMed much so, if you wanna talk, you gotta post. I should mention, that although I am new to the forums, I am NOT new to LDing.

My favorite ways of inducing LD's are through nightmares and morning WILD's, however I can sometimes have a long LD only an hour or two after falling asleep.

I expect to be around 8)

      Hi!!!

My name is Truthbearer, and I have been lucid dreaming for about 4-5 months(about 2 weeks after I joined the site) I think I have gotten pretty good at it, and have mastered a method that gets me lucid almost everytime(thought I am having a problem with schedule lately so I haven't been able to use it for a while )

Anyway, I think I know a lot about the topic, so feel free to PM me or MSN me whenever you feel like it
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Hey good idea. I like the age variation here, we can help more people this way.

I've been an active member here for about four months, though I started lucid dreaming around start of summer last year. I have extensive knowledge about lucid dreaming and regular dreaming. However if you have a question about astrals or OBEs I'm not the person you want.

I just turned 17 years old last month and am going into my senior year in high school, so if you need help with anything (doesn't have to be about LDs) feel free to contact me.

I live in GMT-5 Central Time. (Texas)

      Hi there

I'm 25, live in South Africa, and have been lucid dreaming since about 5 years old (uninformed at that point in my life, however )

Only relatively recently (about 2 years now) have I been actively attempting to induce more regular lucid dreams.
My success varies depending on work stress, and lately, illness.
At my best, I manage about 5 lucid dreams a week (contradicts a previous post of mine.... I remember having 4 lucids in one night alone)

My interest in lucid dreams stems from the ability to get really close to your subconscious. You have no inhibitions to your abilities at this level.
In addition... its an INCREDIBLE amount of fun
And the rush is awesome ! 8)

I believe that anyone can lucid dream, however one technique that may work for one person does not necessarily apply to the next person.
I believe its necessary to discover your own best methods of getting it right. Of course, others can guide and advise, but thats about as far as it can go

My abilities and skills include ghosting (eg. like the ghosts in the matrix), summon stuff, read (perfectly btw), fly (with difficulty), have a chat with my subconscious (usually ends up in angry words... )

I'm a computer software developer by profession, and also make computer games in my spare time. Other hobbies include playing computer games, handwriting analysis, memory techniques, AI, helping others with their potential, and lockpicking (no, not for criminal intent. For fun, believe it or not )... and more...

I'm very open minded, but not to the point of accepting baseless information in a gullible sense.

      And I cannot do a WILD ... yet... (I'm close )

Hi all, I’m Laura. I'm 25 and well, I'll help if I can. I have been around Dream Views for a few months but I've had lucid dreams many times in my life. There is no rhyme or reason to my LD's they just come when they come. I do believe thought that if one is willing to work at it there can be a sense or regularity to becoming lucid. I still have not got there but i totally enjoy the experiences I have had.

      Contact me however you wish.

Even though I'm still working on achieving LDs I still consider myself a good resource of information, especially related on how to do things in dreams.

My name is Shannon, but you can call me Amethyst or Amé. I'm 19 and I've been here since July. I've had two LDs but since I'm at school I don't really have time to focus on techniques much. I have done a lot in normal dreams, though, and can offer you suggestions on how to perform certain tasks: my specialty is flying, but I can take a stab at other aspects. I'm a foreign language major at the U of Montana so if you have any questions related to the Spanish or Russian languages (or English for that matter, duh) contact me.

The best way to contact me is by PM, but my e-mail address is also [email protected] Make sure to include a subject that refers to DV or I may just delete it by mistake. I'll be editing this post when I get LDs, but we'll cross that bridge when it comes.

      newbie

i'm SilvaStar and have just learned that i've been having lucid dreams my whole life-roughly 23 years. before checking out the site, i didn't know what lucid dreams where. i've always been able to hvae total dream recall. as a matter of fact, it is very rare that i don't remember my dreams. i've always found it strange when people say that they can't remember and don't even know when they're dreaming. even while i'm dreaming, i know it's a dream. however, i seriously lack dream contol. when i have a nightmare, for instance, i can tell myself it's just a dream, but i can't control what happens, and i cannot stop my fear. this goes for regular dreams as well. i know when i'm dreaming, but can't control the happenings of my dreams. i guess the strangest thing that's happened in my dreams is that i once met my boyfriend's mother in a dream before i met her in real life. when i did finally meet her, it was definately her, although i'd never even seen a picture of her. i'm also interested in astral projection. i have no experience with it, but i've heard of others that do. i was wondering if that, like lucid dreaming is something that can be learned. feel free to email me at [email protected]
...we barely have time to react, let alone to rehearse, and i don't think i'm any better than you, but i don't think i'm any worse...~anni
