      Hi guys

Hi Guys and "Guten Tag" from Germany,
I am a 17 year old boy from Germany and I´m totally new in the topic lucid dreaming. First time I heard about it was 4 weeks ago. It fascinated me from the first second on but I´m training just for 4 days because I decided to start my attempts in vacation would be more comfortable.
So I just started to improve my dream-recall ability by a dreamdiary. That is really great because I used to belive that I dont dream at all, because I couldnt remember any dream for years Now after 4 days practicing I remember at least one per night
Now I am looking forwards to have my first lucid dream as fast as possible. Here in Germany we have big summer holidays - 6 whole weeks time to improve my skills. That should be enough.
I just want to thank all of you because the whole dreamviews website and the forum was very interesting and helpfull.
      Sorry for my bad English

Guten tag! Your English is very good! How did you hear about lucid dreaming?

It is fantastic that you've just started this interest in lucid dreaming, and the six weeks will certainly serve you well I know you said it is a vacation, but learning to lucid dream can be hard work... hard, but rewarding, as I think you must be learning with your dream journal

The most important thing that you'll want to do is keep up with your diary. Remembering your dreams is really critical, if not to learn to DILD by finding Dreamsigns, then to make the lucid dreams you DO have more vivid and memorable. And, of course, non-lucid dreams are also very fun

I recommend that you try these out (1, 2), and also that you read the tutorials. There are some members on Dreamviews from Germany who I am sure could help if you have trouble with anything you read and can translate it for you, and if it is not the language but the topic that you might have trouble with, I am happy to help

Good luck and enjoy your vacation It may be the best one of your life

      Thank you!
I made the two tests and the result was that I should concentrate on the DILD technique, using RCs. That was my favourite method anyway.
I will of course keeping on with my journal, because its fun and necessary to succed.
And about the language problems: Translating and understanding is no problem for me. Just my writing skills aren´t that good.

I forgot to answer your question ("How did you hear about lucid dreaming?"):
A friend of mine had a lucid dream without knowing what it was. He just told me that he was dreaming and that he knew that he was dreaming and able to do anything he wanted (he flyed). I thought: " What the hell is this guy talking about?!"
And so I checked the internet for information.

Hehe your friend is lucky That's almost exactly how my first lucid dream went, I had one randomly You should get him on DV as well, having a friend in real life who you can talk to about your lucid dreaming pursuits makes it so much more fun!

      He,
just wanna give you a short update about my training.
I kept on with the dream journal and the reality checks while beeing awake.

      1. My dream recall skills have improved amazingly. I remember at least 2 complex dreams per night.
These are a lot longer than they used to be, mostly associated with one or more local changes (dont know how to express that in English; I mean that at the beginning of my dream I am for example at home and later on in the same dream I am in school for example).
They are also a lot more vivid than they used to be.

      2. Now, sometimes I am able to control what I am going to dream by autosuggestion. But these dreams are all non-lucid and I am only able to decide the abstract topic.

And now the most important thing:
3.Tonight I had my first lucid dream.
In my dream I had a conversation with my dad (topic doesnt matter). Then I got to bed. That point I firstly thought that I woke up, but because I read about the "false awakening" here in the forum I did a RC.
I looked at my fingers and they changed their shape and I had only 4 of them. So I realized that I must be dreaming.
Now the bad aspect about that dream: I was too excited, my heart started pumping like crazy. I tried to stabilize the dream by reaming my hands on each other and focusing on the heat, but it didn´t help anymore. I woke up.

But I guess that counts as a lucid dream
I hope I´ll get a second one soon.

      Red face Few Question

The last two nights I wasn´t able to recall a single dream
That was quite shocking because as I told you my dream-recall-ability improved recently really well.
Is it normal that there are such nights where you cant recall dreams?

These last two nights, it was hard for me to fall asleep (normal I fall asleep after a view minutes). Maybe there´s a connection.

      And another question:
I´d like to do some RC in bed direktly before falling asleep.
My problem: What kind of RC would be best for that?
Normally I look at my hands and imagine to have 7 fingers, but because of the darkness I cant do that.
So is there any RC that works in darkness? Maybe even without the necessity of moving?

      Thx for your awnsers.
