The excitement of life?

So I just had a quick question about Lucid dreaming. Being that I just started reading up on it, I haven't had any Lucid dreams yet, save for one a night ago, that lasted two seconds. If Lucid dreaming is so exciting, and you can do things like fly, or other exhilarating things that feel real, how exciting will life be? For example, if I fly in my Lucid dream and it feels so good...how exciting will the roller coasters be when I go to Six Flags, for example.

I have not had a lucid dream myself but I am guesing that everything in life will be just as exciting because you know you are dreaming and you cant get harmed. but when you ride a roller coarter it will still be exciting because you know there is a chance you could get hurt. prety much in a dream the fact that you cant get hurt and that you can do anything makes it exciting but in real life the fact that you can get hurt and that you cant do anything to stop it makes it exciting. hope I helped

Dreams, as real are they are, always have a surrealistic undertone, so you don't get jaded for life at all. In fact, it might make it more fun, because you might end up wanting to do more exreteme things like hang gliding or sky diving.. so much fun Feel free to ask lots of questions to me or on the forums. Ah, that helps. So it seems like it won't "hurt" my excitement in life... Just for the sake of argument, what if I just decided to go on the same exact roller coaster as the one at an amusement park in my dreams, would it still not jade me in real life if I decided to go?

My guess would be no, just because it *wouldn't* be the exact same roller coaster. Your dream one would be based on the real one but it wouldn't be subject to the same laws of physics. And no matter how realistic your dream is, unless you have been on that roller coaster a million times you would not be able to dream every single aspect of the ride experience. Your dream mind might come up with different and equally intense qualities of the ride but you probably wouldn't be able to imagine the exact sensation of the wheels rolling over the tracks and the reactions of the other people on the coaster etc. ... Plus, as the other poster said, in reality there's always that element of risk, however small, that the ride might not go as smoothly as planned, and I think our awareness of that risk adds to the thrill.

So none of you think that someone who has lucids on a nightly basis and WILD's during the day would not get tired of "real" life. I would think that if you got enough control over your lucids that you would want to be in your dream world for as long as possible. I have yet to gain much if any control over my lucids however, I feel like something is being stolen from me when I wake up, because I want to be back asleep. I am not saying everyone would react that way to lucids but take for an example someone who is in a bad situation and their lucids are the only good they have. The psychological effects of this can go both ways because you are in control.
