      My first attempt (failure)

I went to bed around 5:30 (am), didn't fall asleep till 6, and then wound up having 4-5 dreams before 6:42 passed. What I believe happened is at the start of every dream I would immediately realize it was a dream and lose lucidity. Since each dream was only a couple seconds long, I didn't see the point in recording them. What worries me is that I read attaining REM early on in sleep is unhealthy and those who do should seek a doctor. However I was really tired (at first), decided I need to clean the place which made me active, causing the 5-6 am-unrest. Is this common? The night earlier was the first time I tried to lucid sleep, recorded the dreams and everything. But last night was terrible, no rest or anything. Should I seek a doctor or is this the common mistakes of a budding learner?
PS: As I improve DR in these early stages, I am supposed to go ahead and try to LD right? Everyone else says they plan on only improving DR for a month or so and then try to LD, but do I really need to wait?
