      after car accident

Ok so I've been having weird like day dreams or lucid dreams since I was in a car accident. A little info about the accident...it was on July 11, 09. I was with my boyfriend and his two friends on our way home when the kid who was driving fell asleep and went off the side of the road. We ran into a tree and flipped over. The driver and the passenger didn't get hurt, but me and my boyfriend who was sitting in the back unbuckled we had some injuries. He had a huge lump on his forehead and I had some abrasions and burns on my knees.

Now about the lucid dreams I keep on having...
Ever since the accident (I live in the country) whenever I'm riding with someone in town I have dreams about how we are going to crash like either we get too close to the edge of the road and go off into a ditch or we are too close to the other side of the road and a car is coming the other way and we smack right into them. Then I freak out and have trouble breathing.

When someone leaves my house to go in town I dream about ways that they will crash too and I'm not fine until they come back or call.

When I'm driving I am perfectly fine.

Why do I keep on having these dreams? Is it normal after a car accident? After a month..

This can be pretty common after such an event you have experienced. Most people after something traumatic happens, do tend to worry alot about others and dream about it. My advice for you is to calm yourself, get your mind off of the negative thoughts you have to others. Keep thinking positive no matter what. If you are aware in these dreams, take control of them. Make the outcome something nice, like driving to the beach and having a fun day. Use these dreams to help aid you through these thoughts and emotions.

First off, I'd like to welcome you to Dream Views.

Now, I may not be very experienced with Lucid Dreaming, but I am moderately experienced with trauma, anxiety, and stress. I'd say that it is definitely reasonable to be having these dreams, even after a month.

Now, you said they were day dreams, right? Because a Lucid Dream is when you go to sleep and dream. In anycase, I suppose you could say I've experienced something similar to this. It's rare, but I've known myself to get very anxious about someone I know who is driving, I imagine them getting into an accident.

I mean, I'm not sure, I've never been in such a traumatic incident. I do know what whenever I have a bout of "panic", that I can just sort of "will it away". I'm not sure how it works, I guess I've just had years of experience with anxiety and I just learned to do it. My advice is that you seek counseling if you haven't already, and definitely look up a guide on how to deal with trauma by meditation - that, I think, will help you a lot.
