      Wish me luck...

      Im going to attempt a WILD tonight. I cant wake up with an alarm clock, as i dont want to wake the rest of my household, so i am going to try the water technique. about how much water should i drink? anyway... hope it works. i will try to ignore the SP and hallucinations, if i can. if this works, it will be my first induced lucid! how exciting!

      You sound very exited, I wish you luck! Before I go to bed I go to the bathroom and just drink as much water as possible and I normally always wake up after right after a dream to go to the bathroom. Good luck and don't move no matter how uncomfortable you feel after you've started.

      alright, thanks for the help! also, when i wake up, im supposed to go to the bathroom, right? or will that lower my chances of becoming lucid?

      Of course you are. The more comfortable you are, the more relaxed you will be, and by extension the easier your WILD attempt will be.

      so do you think that its best to drink loads in a short period of time
      or just drink like 2 or 3 pints over 15min?

      im going to try the water thing again. hopefully it works and i can fall asleep before it turns into urine and i go mad.

      Try using mantras and autosuggestion. I can usually wake up on my own just by telling myself that I'm going to wake up some time between 3 and 4. Also, If I set my alarm for 4, I'll wake up at about 3:30 because I'll be expecting to wake up anyways. Plus, this means I've woken up right before a rem cycle.

      alright, i woke up last night, 4.5 hours after i fell asleep. i tried to wild, but nothing happened. no sleep paralysis, no hypnagogic hallucinations, nothing. im wondering what i did wrong here, too early to get up? too late? i ended up giving up, and falling asleep again.
