      WILD attempt: Was i close?

I guess this belongs in newbie zone since I am still a newbie so I'm gonna ask:

Today when I tried to WILD I stayed still for 30 minutes when suddenly I started feeling numbness in my hands and legs, soon I couldn't feel my legs and hands, I felt like I was on a cloud...Thats when I decided to open my eyes and see if it's a dream, sadly it wasn't

Was i close to a WILD?

You were kinda close. Next time don't open your eyes. When you enter a dream, you'll know. No need to guess. If you haven't already, check out the WILD tutorial.

Sounds like you are going into SP (sleep paralysis). I get that kind of feeling just before I fall asleep. Search reverse blinking - that'll help you get into the same state really fast.

I was going to post almost exactly the same thing as Toby. I tried WILDing from 8:20 to 9:30 today and felt numb, but that was it. No hallucinations of any sort or anything. I've tried a couple of times now but nothing really has ever happened except for getting a soft swaying motion that goes away as soon as I notice it.

Should I be trying to VILD? Should I think about nothing? Or should I just kind of let my thoughts wander?

Let your thoughts wonder. The best hallucinations I get are seeing outlines of things, seeing weird shapes, or briefly seeing places or settings (but they are quite blurry). I also sometimes hear sounds or suddenly jolt or move.

I tried to WILD yet again this morning, after 30 minutes of lying still I felt numbness in my hands and legs again, that continued for another 30 minutes and nothing happened, no SP, no dreams, nothing. So I quit.
