Active Dream or Memory? And Uncomfortable

Hello all. I'm new to DV but have been triyng on, and off, for quite sometime to become lucid. I was a bit of a skeptic until one day, quite long ago, I had an amazing dream in which I had what felt like complete control but not lucidity. This time I am determined to succeed, with out giving up.
I have, what I would consider above average dream recall, relative to an average individual. I remember at least one dream a night with out intedning to do so, with the occasional dry spell. Most...all..my dreams are simply memories. I feel I have no opportunity to even think if I'm dreaming.
Also I wake up regularly after a dream sequence, which started after reading an article on DV, but am unable to attempt any induction techniques becasue I feel uncomfortable. It's almost easier to roll over and just slip away. My body seems to ache or get restless, usually after sleep paralysis (which for me is just an extremely heavy feeling). I even purchased a Bi-naural beats dvd, which helps, yet I still get an uncomfortable feeling, unable to drift into sleep. Probably too excited and preventing my own success? Any advice, greatly appreciated

Welcome to Dream Views, I hope you like it here!

I'm not sure whether remembering a dream per night is above what the average person recalls (though it may well be in the modern society), but you'd do good to start a dream journal to work up your recall to around four dreams per night. You could also start doing reality checks as it's an easy technique to start with and they don't hurt even if you're also using a different technique. Which brings me to the question of which technique you are currently attempting. If it's WILD, then you should know that it's rather difficult to get right and there are others you could try. Have you been to the tutorial section yet?

There's lots of good material there.

I wish you luck in becoming lucid.

I have, recently, looked into the tutorials. I certainly have a bit of practice to do, with familiarizing myself with the different techniques, as well as terminology. I was refering my dream recall in regards to individuals who don't pay much attention or, are unfamiliar with the potential of their dreams. I have started a log, but my schedule kind of stinks and I end up wrtiting, what seems to be a novel. I need to amend my way of keeping a journal with out detail overkill. Thanks for the advice..

-at work, saw shelly, got in car, went home

if you remember that, the details should come back to you
