      Unclear thoughts

hey there. so i've had three lucid dreams in my life, all of them within the past three weeks. one thing that's been bugging me though is that even though i realize i'm dreaming, it's like a can't fully comprehend it or something. for instance, in my ld last night, i felt the need to urinate and began searching for a bathroom. in another dream, i was having sex and a crowd of people walked in, so i stopped having sex and ran out of the room freaking out. and in another one, i tried to email myself from inside the dream saying "i'm dreaming!"

so yeah what exactly would cause stupid stuff like this? i was thinking that maybe it's because i'm semi-lucid, but when you're semi-lucid you can't control anything, correct?

      hey man,

three weeks isnt that much so dont expect that U gonna dream epic LDs just after that short time.

The dreams you've had might have been vivid etc, but they werent real LDs. Having real LD is being as aware as in reality, or even more. Being conscious is pure happiness. I'm sure U will feel it in real LD.

Those dreams may be created by Ur ego/subconsciousness/whatever U wanna call it, to make feel U aware, which is an illusion. I've read somewhere it's ego trying to defend itself, but that really doesnt matter, just fight it.

Also it may be important which method to attain lucidicy U use. I suggest just to meditate, or do some energy/chakras-work.

And last advice, write down what Ur gonna do in LD. Something like "meet my guide", "meditate in the space", etc. Be sure U really wanna do it, and if U do it in a dream, it's most likely it was real LD.

It's hard to say, beacuse I dont really use any methods to attain lucidity. It just comes to me. What U do is opposite to this, because U force being lucid.

      easy way:
You can try to remember what U wanted to do in LD, try to remember who U are, what U did before going to bed...

      epic way:
      Meditation

gotcha, well maybe what i'll do next time i become lucid is just sit down and focus on thinking as clearly as possible. cause what i've been doing is flying around and talking to dcs and stuff as soon as i become lucid. so maybe if i just sit back and relax it will help.

      eric -

a suggestion, which is born only out of my own path as it pertains to dreaming:

there will be times where you will realize you are dreaming, but haven't fully stabilized the dream. this sounds like what is happening to you. what you need then, is a way to stabilize your dreaming attention. my suggestion is to select something that you can do in any dream - something that will remind you, every single time that you do it, that you are in fact dreaming. if you can do this, you will get a surge of energy every time you use this "trigger". it must be something that you can have access to in any dream environment, and it must be something that you do purposefully and which also doesn't suck up a lot of your energy. many people use the "look at your hands" trigger. it's easy, and you will always be able to do it because if you are in a dream, your hands will be there as well. it doesn't suck up much energy, and it exercises dream control. it's really the perfect trigger. try it. next time you find yourself dreaming, see if you can look at your hands. your dreaming should become a whole lot more real when you are able to exert even this minimal amount of control. you'll feel your whole body emerge into the dream, just as if you were pulling yourself out of a deep sleep. go about your dream, but every now and then, especially when you feel your energy waning, look at your hands again to remind yourself you're dreaming so you don't get sucked back into the oblivion.

well, last night i had another ld and followed your advice. pretty trippy when one hand is backwards and the other has fingers growing out of the side of it haha. i think it helped though, cause i was fully aware that i was in a dream the entire time, and i started practicing my dream control. basically it was a pretty boring ld, but i think i gained a lot from it.
