      A hello and some questions

Hello, I'm new here and thought I'd share some fragments of lucid dreams I had and ask questions on them.

This is my first lucid dream. - I'm standing in my room looking down the hall and decide to turn my head and look at my mirror. I start to move and suddenly I'm conscious, all around me is a loud beating noise and a moment later I realize its my heart. I started spinning around to see if the dream world would change but it did not so I walked into the mirror and the lucid dream ended. The odd thing is that I dont know how I became lucid, the mirror did not slip up.

I've found that I dont do many reality checks and I become lucid more so to the desire to change something. - In this dream my friend and I are hanging out and he tells me that he must go. After he is gone I wish for him to come back, I can feel myself become semiconscious and I try to force lucid my dream and bring his jeep up through the concrete parking lot. I can feel my body in reality shaking and twitching violently so I give up. From the point that I became semiconscious to the point where I gave up I could hear all different voices chanting "Lucid". From then on most of my lucid dreams have Voices chanting lucid before and during the period I become lucid.

This is the first lucid dream that I see a wall of strange liquid in. This liquid looks a lot like swimming pool water when the sun hits it, you see square and oval shapes of light reflecting. - In this dream I was a ghost and knowing this I realized that I was dreaming, during the stage between no control and control all I could hear was lucid chanting. It was at this time that a group of men wearing all black with trench coats and top hats came out of air and started running at me, also at this time a great wall of liquid came rushing up the street. The group of men were the first to get hit by this wall and as it hit me I came into control and instantly braced myself with my right foot. After the wall passed it left me in the same area but with disfigured buildings and a black sky with black air. Now lucid I just explored.

Yesterday's lucid dream, once again with a strange liquid only this time I seem to control it - I was walking down a street and I did not wish to walk down a street, at this moment I became conscious and my body instantly reacted by standing up straight and lifting its left arm up slowly with its hand and wrist relaxed. Once the left arm was at the shoulder level the hand flicked up so that the palm of it was facing the buildings to the left, my body then did the same with the right arm and hand. When the palm of the right hand was facing the buildings to the right a strange liquid began to cover the buildings. Once the buildings were completely covered they began to sink deep into the liquid and become distorted, after all was done I was left in an alley with full control but somewhat dizzy. I spent the rest of the dream exploring.

      My questions are:

What is this liquid and why does it happen as my consciousness is entering my dream body..? I have not read a lot of ways to change one's surroundings but from what I have read I've seen nothing like this.

Why do I hear this chanting..?

I had thought of other things to ask but I cant remember them at this time.

I would like to ask a question on reading in dreams though. I have found that I can read and reread words in my dreams and lucid dreams with little to no change. What I would like to know is if anyone else can read and reread in their dreams and why one can do this if others tell them that it is not possible..?

I can only answer the reading part. From what I've seen in some threads it's hard to do but one or two others seem to be able to read perfectly. Myself I can't really read, I open up a book and see maybe two normal words and the rest is symbols and mixed up letters differing in size and ink strength. It's even rare that I try to read, can only recall one incident clearly and that lead to that I knew I was dreaming.

I'm not entirely sure. I think that this would be good to put in dream interpretation, because it doesn't sound like anything that would be caused physically. I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion.

Do you often think about LDing during the day or just of the word lucid? Possibly your subconscious is picking up on your desires and is (for some reason) acting in a sympathetic manner. Do you listen to music when you go to bed? Maybe you're not hearing the music itself, but your mind might be interpreting the beat and adapting it to your dream or something.

I have been able to read clearly in dreams. I'm not sure if it's just the type of person that can read. Often, the words don't make sense (upon waking), but they're clear. I haven't had enough lucids to try reading something repeated times, though. There are several people on this site who've said that they can read text, so you're not alone.

Once again, thanks for joining. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Sweet Lucid Dreams

I'll wait till the 5th and if I dont have a reply or two I'll post it there then. Its not something that needs an answer really, just something I'm curious about.

Its not a every day thing about once a week I'll think about lucid dreaming. I listen to alot of music but not when I'm sleeping. I dont recall any consistent beat to the chanting its all random, if I could say its like anything it would be like a recording with many layers of lyrics all chanting at different times and at the same time, if that makes sense..? They are also all different voices, some old some young and some demonic sounding. I may ask about this one along with the liquid.

Maybe the water is a dream sign for you...... have you read about those? If it is something that you notice consistently in all of your dreams, or a large portion of them, it could be......

It is something for you to recognize, and look for, in your dreams to realize that you are dreaming.... and become lucid.

It sounds to me though that you just have strong lucid abilities now that you have begun thinking about it....... all things that happen in our dreams, are, as you know, manifestations of things within ourselves, so the chanting may just be your thoughts.... telling you forcefully or repeatedly to become lucid......

and lucky for you it seems to be working! I once walked by a woman asking someone else if they were dreaming, but did not ask myself.....

How long have you been interested in/working with lucid dreaming, cause it seems to come easily to you.... I joined over a month ago and have not had one lucid since.....

I've read about them but I dont believe that it is a dream sign. The reason why is because the liquid seems to be doing the same thing as me and the chanting. Probably unlike most of you rather then becoming lucid by noticing I'm dreaming I become lucid by forcing my way into the dream. Like kicking in the door of a locked house. This is also what the liquid seems to be doing. It does not appear to be part of the dream originally, its hard to explain.

A thought on the subconscious level. Seeing as how both you and Amethyst Star have stated this I'm going to add it to my list of strong possibilities.

I've been interested in it for 6 or so months. I guess you could say that it comes easily... I dont know what to say on that one really, I've never thought of it as coming easy but thinking back on it I did not have a problem. Thanks, now I feel happy ^_^
