Strange, extremely scary feeling.

I used to have these strange attacks when I was little and sick. These attacks usually started when I had about 40 C body temperature, and when sleeping and waking up while sick. By "attacks" I mean going completely insane, having extremely intense scary feelings (it's really hard to explain). So, I remember staring at the TV before going to sleep. Then, the TV and me started to move away from each other. It seemed like an effect you can do with a camera (zoom out and walk forward, or zoom in and walk backwards at the same time). Then, I started to feel the intense feeling. The only thing I remember from that is the TV and my sister holding me. I seem to forget these, or remember parts of them. It's the most scariest and intense feeling you could ever have, nothing more scarier. And when I have these, every sound seems extremely loud, a whisper sounds like an explosion, but I never hallucinated. I start to go insane and be extremely confused. The reason I posted this is I wanna know what they are, and has anyone ever had this? And also, I sometimes get these feelings when I'm trying to sleep, to make it go away, I just have to open my eyes really widely and close them and go back to sleep. And another reason to say hi. I know this sounds strange, but please share your experiences.

I had a similar experience a few months ago. I woke up from a bad dream on a very cold night. The dream wasn't even that scary (I think I told you about it on MSN) I was scared out of my mind in a way I can't describe very well. It was an eerie kind of fear, almost trippy.

The intense scary feelings you mention sounds like what accompanies a night terror. I had those when feverish when I was little. I could see my room around me, and things were added, sometimes scary, but the thing that shook me was the indescribable feeling of terror and insanity Not sure about the sometimes getting the feeling when you are drifting off to sleep though.

Panic attack *EDIT* I used get these all the time. If you get a really bad one it feels like your almost dieing or going crazy.
