      My Experience

Ok, well i was watching a documentary about a week ago about the mind. It went into detail of our sleep cycle and its importance. Then it went on to how it is possible to control dreams. This greatly intrigued me, as this seemed like an invaluable tool. I set about to learn as much as i could about this Lucid Dreaming. I have spent about 6 hours total over the last week or so reading all i could about LD, SP, WILD, DILD, etc. I felt i knew the basics, so i attempted to execute a WILD last night. Actually twice. Once when i first went to bed, then once early in the morning, about 2 hrs before i usually get up.

At my first attempt, i spent about an hour relaxing myself, and getting into the mentality that i was gonna try LD that night. When i went to bed i got comfortable and then laid still and cleared my mind. I then laid completely still and attempted to count 300 breaths to keep my consciousness awake.

At about 115, i started to enter what i think was SP. I first got a ringing in my ears, then tingling numbness all over, then like a weight on my chest. I felt like my lungs were trying to breath by themselves. This conflicted with how i was trying to breath. I could handle the other symptoms, bu this sorta set me off. I was doing well at first, but then i kept trying to override the natural breathing rhythm with my own.

I almost felt like i was going to cross over. Then i opened my eyes. checked my clock to be sure i was actually awake, did an RC. damn so close.

Tried again 10 minutes later. Got to 500 but no luck. Went to sleep.

Woke up at about 6:30, i usually wake up at 9. Laid awake for a few minutes, then tried to WILD. Got to 400 breaths, no luck. Went to sleep.

Hand numerous dreams over that night, with no LD and no control. I may have had partial LD in one, but it was quickly lost.

So yea, that was my first night attempt. I know well that it could take a month before i get my first purposely induced LD, and it my not be with the WILD method. I think i will try it 10 or so more times, then if no avail, i will move on to another method.

Anyone have any tips for me? Any suggestions/ pointers would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks.
