      Newb!

So I recently found this site when using stumble and read the thing through. For close to 2 weeks now i have just been focusing on my dream recall, and i think i am getting better at it, though it helps when i am getting 8 full hours as i am less likely to decide that writing down my dream is too much effort, and thinking i'll just remember it, than forgetting it 2 seconds later... though even so i am remembering 1/2 of them without having to write them down now.

Tonight is my first real try at a LD, I am thinking i will meditate for a bit first, and try to focus on doing my reality check in my dream and such.

If tonight i dont succeed, try try try try... try try again! lol! This is where being stubborn comes in handy!

You seem to have a lot of will power. That will serve you well in your attempts. Just keep writing in your dream journal because a good dream recall is one of the most important things in trying for lucid dreams.

Good luck and welcome to Dreamviews!

      Welcome

I really do encourage you to start keeping a full dream journal of everything you can remember. Even if it's too much effort to write everything, you could keep a notepad by your bed and jot down key notes. Since your recall is already pretty good, the jot notes should help trigger the other 50% you haven't been remembering when you wake up The notepad is really useful if you wake up in the middle of the night. I can't generally recall a dream once it gets buried by another dream, so usually I have to make some kind of note to remember it. If writing the full dream is too much effort, perhaps keeping a word document, or keep a dream journal here on the forums?

Journals are the keys to success here I don't think you'll find too many (if any) here who would tell you that it's a worthless exercise
