I'll be 41 at the end of March this year, and like the previous four years I've told myself that this would be the year that I start training seriously again for powerlifting and strongman events and that before the year is out, I'll compete in my first strongman event locally here in the Dallas area.
If I can get a handle on LD (granted, I am a 2 day noob at the whole concept of LDing) and then can begin to dream of lifting great weights (cars, and such), would that do anything to translate into additional success into my waking life by possibly motivating me to train more etc? This has always been my downfall in the past. I'll get fired up about training and everything, but after a couple or three months, I'll backslide or something will take the priority away from it. I want to do this for me. Sorry bout the ramble.
