      remembering dreams

hey i'm new to this forum and i had never heard of lucid dreaming since a couple of days ago.

So now i'm trying to keep a DJ .

But i have problems of remembering my dreams when i wake up..

it comes with peaces and bits and after 10 min or so when i wake up..

is there something i can do to remember more of my dreams ?

      thank you in advance

      Hey, welcome to the forum!

Probably the best thing to do is just lie in bed for a while... don't even change from the position you woke up in if you can help it... the more you move around the more it wakes you up. Try to stay as much as possible in that dreaming mode, and don't think about regular daytime stuff... just try to remember anything you can from your dreams... just an image or a feeling if that's all you can grab at first. This will usually help draw out more memories. Usually after a while Ill remember one thing and then a big chunk of the dream will just come with it. Then when you do get up grab your DJ and scribble it down, or just some notes to help you remember and then write it later if you want. If I can't write it down then I'll review it subvocally, as if I'm telling the dream to someone. That helps to lock it in your brain, then you can still remember it later.

Also, if you're really interested in learning to LD, you should get Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Steven LaBerge. The best book written on the subject...

Yes, when you wake up don't' move, keep your eyes closed, and just remember what was just happening (the dream).

It might go something like this.

You become aware that you are leaving a dream and waking up, you're awake, keep your eyes closed, you remember that right before you woke up you found a million-dollar bill on the ground on the sidewalk, then you remember you were walking home from somewhere, then you remember you were walking home from a concert and then you remember you had to sneak in to the concert because you didn't have a ticket, then you remember that you had a ticket before that but something happened to it . . .
