      Hey everyone

Ok yeah, I'm new here. Trying to figure out how to explain a few dreams that I have had so that everyone can understand. I also have a few questions; 1. after reading several posts I have noticed a few acronyms here and there, is there a Dream Views acronym dictionary around here somewhere? I figured out a few of them but just wondering. 2. Whats the deal with REM sleep? I have heard that it takes time to fall into deep REM sleep. Many times I will fall asleep and immediately start dreaming and wake up feeling like I have been asleep all night, feeling refreshed only to look at the clock and realize that its only been about 10 or 15 minutes.

Anyway this seems like a nice place, hopefully I can find some help and answers here.

      Welcome to DreamViews

Was this during a nap? This usually doesn't happen at the start of a nights sleep but is common during naps when you are in your afternoon REM cycle. This is why it is possible to WILD, which I'm sure you will read about. Not sure why these kinds of naps feel longer than they are, it's a common phenomenon!

Good luck with your lucid dreaming!

It was not a nap, unfortunately I do not have this luxury, this happens when I lay down to sleep for the night. Occasionally when this does happen, I wake up frightened cause it is dark out and thinking that I am late for work or something. One time it occurred and I had even gone the extent where I had taken a shower, got dressed and walked out the front door to head to work only to realize it was still night and not dawn.

Well then you are very lucky because you can use this to start lucid dreaming from the start of the night, which most people can't do. Master the WILD technique and you will be set!

Just a quick question, because you feel refreshed after only 15 mins, does this mean you need less sleep than normal?

Thats cool, I just started reading about WILD. Actually yes, I average about 4.5 to 5 hours of sleep every night. My days are very busy and use up pretty much all the time that I am awake, work from 6am to 5pm, work out for 2 hours, work around the house etc. I have seen that more sleep than this causes me to be tired throughout the day. Once in a great great while I will sleep in, 8 to 9 hours.
