After a night of extensive vivid dreaming, I managed to 'catch' the last probably fifteen minutes of my REM cycle before waking up.
I was in a mismatched version of the neighborhood near my house called Bob o Link. I was walking on a road barefoot, then the question just sprung up in my mind "Am I dreaming?". I did a nose pinch and sure enough, I could breathe .
I took a moment to look around and admire the vividness before reminding myself that I might wake up soon, so I should try something fast. Flying was the first thought that came to mind, so I just closed my eyes, jumped into the air, and I leveled out about 15 feet above the ground. I took it slow to gauge the 'controls', flying low and practicing turning. Do any of you remember flying with the wing cap in Super Mario 64? That was pretty much what it was like, though I could fly up without having to dip first.
So I once I got the hang of it I kicked it up a notch and started flying above houses. My neighbors in my neighborhood were apparently in this neighborhood, and they all pointed and waved at me while I was having the time of my life! After cruising in the air for a bit, the neighborhood underneath me gave way to a crowded beach. I did a few loops before landing, and this is where I started losing the lucidity. I got so distracted by the people around me that I forgot that I was dreaming, but I still wanted to fly. All attempts though to get back off the ground failed though, even though I had the whole beach cheering for me. Not long after the dream slowly slipped away and I woke up.
All in all, an awesome experience to be sure!
