Hello. A bit about my and my dreams, plus some questions.

Hey there. I would love to be able to have lucid dreams at will. This site seems like a great learning resource.
I wish I could create my own worlds, exist in my favourite books, and possibly fly. I want to visit alien planets, and even create my own!

I have nightmares (bad dreams, whatever) occasionally, and sometimes if I'm lucky, at some point I realise it's a nightmare. What I do is, I shut my eyes tightly (in the dream), and as I open them again, I focus on actually opening my eyes in real life. It's a really weird technique, I think. But it does work, if I gain the conciousness required to do it.

Sometimes I also briefly experience lucid dreaming. I had one a couple nights ago, which was very quick. And kinda good. But the problem is that on these exceptionally rare occasions, my dream-vision soon blacks out and I can't see a thing, I become increasingly aware that I am actually lying in bed, and then I wake up. Feeling disappointed.
After reading a few things on this site, I've realised that this is probably due to a mix of over-excitement and being in very light sleep. In other words, in the dream I think "I can do whatever I want! Quick, I'd better do everything and anything!".

So anyway, I really really hate nightmares. Mine range from a family member dying, to being hunted in the middle of the night by a vicious monster. Vampire, zombie horde, fox-man, family-member-turned-evil, etc.
It's generally the "being hunted" type of nightmare.
To me, nightmares are just horrible. I know nothing can hurt me, but in the dream, I think it's real.
Sometimes at the end, if the monster "gets" me, I feel actual pain, in a way. Not "I've been punched in the face" sort of pain, but try digging your fingers into your ribcage a little bit, and it's like that. It's a ticklish sort of pain.
It's definitely just in my dreams, as it goes when I wake up.
It could be that while I'm sleeping, I am lying in an uncomfortable position, with my hand pressed into my side or something.

Sorry, this is getting really long...

My main point is that I am afraid of having nightmares. I don't want to use that WILD technique because I hate the idea of having whispers in my ear, as I know I would freak out.
I am also afraid of hallucinations.

Another thing - is real lucid dreaming as good as they say it is?
When you're controlling the dream, can you change the scenario to suit you? For example, could I teleport myself to another planet? How much of the dream is created by you?
Could I literally do anything I want? Like create a house or a tree right infront of me, or am I getting ahead of myself and being unrealistic?
      How vivid is it?

I know this is a HUGE post, but I would really love it if someone/some people would answer my questions.

Hoping to be dreaming happy dreams,
      MythicDreams

P.S: Damnit. I made a mistake in my topic title. I meant "me and my dreams".

It's the one I use, but I don;t wake up, I go into SP for a few seconds, then wake up.) But it does work, if I gain the conciousness required to do it.

My main point is that I am afraid of having nightmares. I don't want to use that WILD technique because I hate the idea of having whispers in my ear, as I know I would freak out. (It's not really that bad. I Barely hear anything, and it's never that scary, just voices saying gibberis or a song I've recently heard.)
I am also afraid of hallucinations. (they aren't that bad. Just minor stuff.)

Another thing - is real lucid dreaming as good as they say it is? (better)
When you're controlling the dream, can you change the scenario to suit you? (Yep.) For example, could I teleport myself to another planet? (with practice, yes.) How much of the dream is created by you? (with practice, all of it.)
Could I literally do anything I want? (almost.) Like create a house or a tree right infront of me, or am I getting ahead of myself and being unrealistic? (Not at all. You should be able to summon small objects, like trees, straight away.)
How vivid is it? (Anywhere from barely vivid to Holy-crap-I-can't-belive-this-is-only-a-dream vividness.)

I know this is a HUGE post, but I would really love it if someone/some people would answer my questions.

My responses to your questions are in the post (in parenthases), as well as a few comments.

You CAN do ANYTHING you want. I mean, you obviously can't affect real life (other than making yourself feel awesome the following day,) but if I get what your saying then yes, you can do Anything! Also, some of my dreams are more vivid then life, like so real you'd WISH life was like this! I'm not gonna say anything about nightmares, 'cause while I don't look forward to them, I like when I have a bad dream. They almost always end with lucidity.
