dream character told me to get rid of my dream sign

I have found out that hair is my dream sign, i dream about my hair all the time, and I'm starting to find it more and more in my dreams, a few nights ago I had a dream that a dream character told me to cut off all my hair and i told him that if I did I wouldn't be able to dream anymore. but he insisted I cut it off cause he said there was no use for it.

Why would a dream character tell me to get rid of my dream sign? anyone had a similar exp? please let me know

Funky! I've not heard of anyone having your particular experience, but it seems that often your subcoucious will try to talk you out of lucid dreaming. I have no idea why, but maybe somehow people feel guilty for being able to do one of the coolest things in the universe? (lucid dreaming I mean)

Perhaps it's a bit of a psychological thing. I dunno about you guys, but I sure wasn't born and was able to lucid dream the first time I slept.
(To be honest, I still can't. I'm making this theory up as I go along.)
Perhaps his brain is just going "Wait, how is he doing this? This isn't right." and is trying to prevent him from continuing his lucid dreams. Either that or, deep down, people find this a bit odd and their subconcious is just going on that. ("This is weird, cut it out and just dream.")
      Just a theory, of course.

      goign through my dream journal

GSGold might be onto something 3 going through my jouranl I found a dream 3 weeks ago that has somethign to do with my brain not wanting me to continue me dreaming. I been trying to work on dream recall and this one dream just stayed in my brain. I wanted to learn more about dream recall and people in my dream pointed me to doors and told me to go through to find what I'm looking for. I went through 3 doors at the 4th door my character told me I couldn't go on; and I told him that I wanted to learn more aboout dreaming then he said that I couldn't because it was time to wake up and he just yelled in my ear and I woke up. I WAS CURSING HIM TO DAMNATION. but with GSGold theory I think I might have something to work with.

maybe I need some extra help

I don't lucid dream that well either, but I think that may be it.

      Body goes to sleep.
Subconcious mind takes over and starts messing around with images and such.
      Concious mind is staring blankly.
Some other night, the subconcious wants the concious mind to know something, so creates a dream that makes a lasting impression.
Concious mind remembers it in the morning.
Some other night, the subconcious is thinking (perhaps preparing for the coming day).
Concious mind realizes that it is asleep.
Concious mind ruin's poor subconciousness's dream!
      Concious mind goes wild.
      Subconcious fights for control.
A few days later, concious mind does it again.
      Subconcious gets annoyed.
Subconcious creates a dream. "Cut it out!"
Concious hears, but does it listen?

It's an interesting perspective, but I wouldn't bet too much money on it. If it happens more often, you might want to consider what's going on. Have a debate with your DC as to why or why not you should go lucid. To me it sounded like a spoil-sport trying to get a few words in there.

      Mirath is correct.

Dream periods are used for the subcocious to teach you things. ever wonder why your dreams reflect on things you did that evening before going to sleep? Because your subconcious 'figures out' those situations to teach you things about it. Beleive it or not, your subconcious is pretty much like another person in your head. It doesn't like you ignoring 'him' and taking over 'his' lessons. The best thing to do is to make a 'deal' with your subc. Here's how it goes:

"you let me lucid dream as long as I listen to your points."
"I listen to your points as long as you let me lucid dream."

Dream characters are your subconcious 'acting'. I suggest you make this deal with a dream character.
