Lately I've been performing constant reality checks, most commonly the technique of glancing twice at a digital clock, but I am confused about what to do with my thoughts while performing the check. I glance first, make note of the time, and when I glance back, I think to myself "The time has not changed. Time is moving in a linear fashion. Therefore, what I am seeing is clearly real." After this, I often attempt to will the clock to change time, and deduce that because the time is still not changing, what I am seeing is logical and must be real. Is this the proper way of performing this check, and if so, how long will it be before the check worms its way into my dreams? |
