Hello everyone. I found my way to this site through MeusOpusMagnus' lucid dreaming section on http://www.thrice-blessed.com/mb . He's gotten himself into various technological developments which I find fascinating but perhaps lack some of the drive or competence to attempt myself. I've had two minor lucid experiences to date and in both instances my father (who frequently has lucid dreams) clued me into the fact that I was in fact dreaming. The first time we were in a car together waiting at a yield sign as a long line of strange school buses passed us, some of which had faces and hairstyles and all that. My dad said something along the lines of "I think you're dreaming" and I immediately started floating up out of the car far above the city and probably got too excited because I ended up in a long chain of false awakenings and really bizarre dreams afterwards.

The second time was a few weeks ago when I was experiencing a few nights in a row of being visited by many different people I have known who've died. My uncle passed away around a year ago, but in this dream he was in my basement barbecuing some huge steaks. I went upstairs to cut some vegetables in the kitchen and my dad followed me. I said something along the lines of "Is he really still alive?" and again he told me something like "Don't you think you might be dreaming?" But this time I just got overly excited and started cutting a red pepper to calm myself down and ended up sinking back into believing that what was going on was real.

I tried some self-hypnosis last night as detailed by LDGuy and I feel it may have been quite successful, but lately I've had muddy dream recall and I'm trying to get into some dedicated practise with writing things down and doing RCs and whatnot. I just started taking some St. John's Wort yesterday as well, and I'm interested to see if that has any effect at all on my dreams, or if anyone here has taken it and experienced anything strange because of it.

Sorry for the long intro.. This seems like a really supportive and helpful site, and I hope I can contribute whatever I see or hear that may be useful in the coming months. I'm just glad that places like this exist. See you all around !
