      shalom dream world

      Shello everyone,

I am very new to this site. I heard of LD last summer and thought it sounded cool. Me being in college at the time thought the idea of LD was really cool but never had enough time to actually begin practicing. I read the entire site and believe I am ready to attempting dream journals, dream signs, etc.

I hope to gain some pointers from this site as I will be attempting my first dream journal entry tonight.

I have had the ability in the past better than friends to remember dreams in extreme detail and length. I have noticed dream signs and almost become lucid one time.

The other night I was dreaming I was driving down a road in the town in which I live in and my body felt very tired and weak. My car began drifting back and forth and I noticed a police car behind me. I thought to myself that I believe I am dreaming because I have never experienced being that tired and incoherent behind the wheel. This type of dream has happened a couple times and will be looking for more in the future.

Any pointers on keeping dream journals or tips to help induce remembering dreams would be great.

Glad to be on the site

If you knew you were dreaming, then that's a lucid dream! You don't have to have any control for it to qualify as an LD, just awareness. It's a great start and I'm sure you'll find yourself lucid before long.

The main thing in regards to recalling dreams is persistence. Keep a dream journal and write in it every morning. Try to recall as much as you can and as many dreams as you can. You'll find that if you stick with it, you'll definitely see progress. Also, one other trip for recalling dreams is this: when you wake up, don't move. Just lay in bed for a little while and try to remember what you were just dreaming about. If you start moving around, you'll start forgetting your dreams, so just stay still for a little while and go through what happened before reaching for your journal and writing it down.

If you wake up in the middle of the night, try to write down those dreams as well. It may be difficult to make yourself do so, but again, that's more of your dreams you're writing down. It's also nice (and often helpful) to go back and read some of the dreams you've written down just before bed to prepare yourself for sleep.

I hope this was helpful. Again, if there's anything you need, feel free to ask See you around!
