      Oh Hai!

Hi guys! I found this site searching the internet for ways to maintain my dreams after becoming lucid. Every time I have ever had a lucid dream, I awake immediately upon becoming lucid, so I read this site and decided to try the techniques described for attaining lucidity and ultimately control during my dreams. I already have excellent dream recall, but I have never had any luck in becoming and staying lucid. I started a dream journal last night, although I felt like i didn't really need it. After reading my journal this morning, I realized what an asset it will be! Even though I can recall my dreams fairly well, writing them down allows an entirely new level of analysis. I can't wait to start having lucid and controlled dreams, but I know I must exercise patience and get the basics down first. Any tips that you guys and girls have, would be most appreciated. I am thinking that using reality checks will be my best bet. Anyway, thanks in advance for your help!

Take a look at the tutorial that we have for a technique called DEILD. Usually what I do when I wake from a lucid dream is I let it happen and then go back into it. It's called dream chaining, and it works really well for me.

Oh wow I just read the tutorial on DEILD. It seems that this is exactly what I need. I have actually done this many times before but without lucidity. Now that I can recognize it, I should be able to obtain a lucid dream within a week or so, as I do the non lucid version of this regularly. I have also never thought of false awakenings before, and I'm certain I have had some while inadvertently attempting to WILD during naps and such.
