      High Lucidity, Low Control

first I experience sleep paralysis. then i get up very lucid in a dream and usually find myself in a dark room (my room, i guess).i keep commanding for lights or clarity -but it doesnt work! ;-/ i try to roll and spin and imagine a pleasant scene to change the setting -but its not working!! WHY?! lol. so i just fly out of there, but then i usually find myself in a quite depressing setting (again).
hope anyone can give me some advice on how to control stuff in dreams and how to change my location.
i just hate it when im so lucid but i can hardly do anything (but fly) ;-(.

I know you say the room is dark, but have you tried to leave the room without spinning? I would try leaving the room, perhaps by trying to find a door etc... when the door is opened you could very well find yourself in a new dreamscape. Just a thought.

In the few LDs that I've had, I've had that problem as well. Looking back it seems that in all of my LDs, the time when I'm most lucid everything goes black for some reason. I'd suggest, as was said, finding a door to go through. Also, some suggest simply opening your dream eyes. Once they're open you should find yourself in a different setting, as long as you know that one will appear.

When I was really young, 4 or 5, and I wanted to go into a different dream, I'd close my dream eyes which would take me to a computer menu with different scenes in it. Id pick one of the places I'd want to go to and then I'd open my dream eyes and I would be there. This might work for you, why dont you try it out?
