I just want to know what you guys think about the Not Guilty verdict to 1st degree murder in the Casey Anthony trial. Explain your answers.

My only real thoughts is that people should stfu about it on Facebook.
I was gonna post this but people are posting so much about it (not on here), I decided not to.
but I think she did it because what about all of the lies she told, that she got caught for and guilty for, all of the partying, not reporting her missing child for a month etc, etc.
If she really did it, she might not have a guilty verdict, but she will feel guilty in her mind.

If you are not from the US then I don't blame you for not knowing who she is. She was basically accused of murdering her 2 year old kid (which I know happens all the time, but her story just some how made headlines). They found on her computer that she went to a site on how to make chloroform 80+ times and she didn't report her child missing until 31 days have passed.
It's a simple Google search. There's more to it than this but I'd rather read reactions from people who know about it.
and she was partying the nights the daughter was gone, made up a fictitious baby sitter, lied to the court and said her parents had set up the plight and the father abused her and molested her daughter. She was caught that these were all lies, and the chloroform deal, the grandma said that her car smelled like dead body; yet she still didn't get the guilty verdict to the murder. The skull they found had duct tape covering the mouth. This happened like 3 years ago...or something. It's been all over the news in the US, I don't even watch the news and I know about it lol.Quote:

No one has any place to say anything anyway. The courts said she was not guilty, that's it. Obviously there was not enough evidence.
I really don't think anyone's media induced bias holds any weight.

But I also agree with Catbus. Everyone keeps saying that the justice system failed Caylee, but if it weren't the way it was, people would be getting locked up for no reason. What really went down was that the prosecution fucked up and they just couldn't prove that she did it, and if you are not 100% sure she did it, why give her the death penalty? This is exactly why I don't believe in Capital Punishment.
Also, I'm not sure the kind of person who goes partying just after killing her child is going to feel very guilty about it. So feeling guilty probably won't be her punishment (which leads me to believe that she's literally insane), but it's obvious she still won't have a normal life. Who knows if she's going to be able to get a descent job now. Who knows if she will even make it stepping out of jail. Someone could be waiting for her on a roof with a sniper rifle.
She carried her daughter's dead body in the truck of her car for days, while she partied.
It is possible that she didn't murder her daughter, and is just a complete and utter freak.
Does anyone think it could have been an accident and she was trying to cover it up?

I think that it's bullshit. There's just no way she didn't do it, and she should be in jail. Even if she didn't kill the daughter, she abused the shit out of her. She's a horrid bitch who we let go without a second thought. Fuck that.

She obviously did it but I do agree there wasn't enough evidence to get her with 1st degree. I think she should have been hit with manslaughter at the very least because it's clear that she did get up to some... nonsense but if they couldn't prove it beyond a doubt, technically, justice was served.
she got charged for lying to authorities, which is some jail time, but she was already in jail for a few years so did it count as time served?

She's totally guilty and hardly an explanation can be given that shows how she was not responsible for this.
The thing is that the prosecution couldn't prove 100% that she did it, and they tried shooting for 1st degree murder which could of led to the death penalty. A "not guilty" verdict doesn't mean we (nor the jury) think she's innocent. They don't want to take any chances and kill someone who could be innocent.

She was getting 4 years, but she already was in for 3 years (maybe a little more) so it counts as time served, and even though she wasn't in for a full 4 years, she can get out soon because of "good behavior" and she has to pay a fine of like 4,000 dollars for the lying to the authorities stuff.

Well when I first heard about her being found not guilty i was angry and thought "oh damn nancy grace will be pissed!!"
But since i have calmed down enough and have thought about the verdict i have to say im happy they gave it too her. Even though i still think she is guilty there is still no CONCRET evidence that points at her.
1. (and probably the biggest thing) is that SHE DIDNT REPORT HER DAUGHTER MISSING UNTILL A MONTH LATER. Seriously what the fuck? Her lawer was still trying to say what a good mother she was even during the last part of the trial. Really? Because what good mother goes out and partys while her daughter is missing?
2. Her story changes really make her look guilty. At first she trys to tell people that her and caylee are living at the beach with a rich boyfriend. Then the story changes to her babysitter having casey (a woman that doesnt even exist). The next thing we know the baby sitter has stollen caylee. Now all of a sudden her daughter drowned and her dad that sexually molested her made her put duct tape on caylee's mouth to make it look like a homicide. Then supposedly he drove the car and dummped the body. Well really? Because who in there right mind see's an accident and makes it look like a homicide?
So im my opinion she did it.
But the jurours could not (honestly) think as though it was impossible for her to not be guilty. Especailly since there were no DNA signs that pointed towrd her.
The only thing that the prosacutours had on her was.
1) The phantom heart sticker found on a peice of cardboard across the street from were caylees remains were left.
But how does that matter? The police searched casey anthony's home and found no stickers that matched the sticker left on the cardboard. Also the prosecuters forgot to mention that there is a elementery school just meters from the place the sticker was found. Did i mention it was found in the trash?
2) They found were casey searched how to break someones neck and how to make cloraform (or however you spell it).
Why was this so important? Well it wasnt... When the house was searched they found NONE of the chemicals to make chloraform. Also as the remains of caylee were observed her neck didnt appear to be broken.
3) "that smell"... The smell that i am talking about is why the dad called the police in the first place. Apparently he went to the impound lot to get caseys car for her when he smelled a smell only describable as a dead body.
The funny thing is that the car wasnt mentioned untill 8 days later. And it had trash in it. Also now that casey has told her last story of her father taking caylees remains in the car it kind of makes since of the smell in the car.
So there were not any evidence pointing directly at casey. So they couldnt give a person the death penalty when they could not be 100% sure. If i was in caseys shoes (and was innocent) i would be happy to hear the not guilty verdict.
(My sources is the fact that i paid really close attention to this trial.)
