It's not really fair... Cause it'll be so easy to win this challenge for people who are in a relationship!
Look, those were just my rules. I'm not in a relationship, don't own a fleshlight, etc. etc. Obviously those things change the dynamic.
You can do it Jakro. Finland is cheering for you!!! As we say here in Finland: Hakkaa päälle pohjanpoika!!! (Or maybe it's just me) :cheeky: (And those searching it up on the google translator, it doesn't really mean that, there's another meaning for that!!!)
And to think you were defeated by a bath. I was almost ready to congratulate you during the end of February.
So you gained anything in the process weakamon?
Yeah, but I doubt I am for long.
Day 60 will be starting in a short while and to be honest, I just don't have the motivation to go beyond that. That was my original goal after all. I think I could do it, but I'm kind of curious to see how masturbating will affect my mental state (or will there be any effect) and also if it makes the urges stronger. I think I've definitely beaten the problems I embarked on this journey for - porn addiction & desensitization to everything. My life's a lot better off now than it was two months ago.
But now when you do it you won't be addicted/ needing it because you already broke the need. now you have freedom to do it whenever you please! :D
I've tried this no-jackoff challenge. Totally not worth it. Jacking off is too good.
No porn challenges are much more beneficial anyways
I kinda wanna join this challenge. Am I too late? :-?
It will certainly keep the thread going
Indeed.
(waves across Austin to you)
I thought about moving there, back in the early 90's.
No worries, just nice to see how many Texans are on this site. :D
Day 1: Success

Here's a Ted Talk by Philip Zimbardo on "The Demise of Guys"
I guess I will start off with why I have decided to participate in this challenge. I am not religious in any way nor do I have any moral qualms with masturbation. Generally speaking, for me it is more of a desensitization thing. The Coolidge Effect leads rise to satisfaction with variety, and it's the dopamine factor in that equation that can lead to increasing desensitization.
The general issue is that I think our brains are not adapted to the current level of availability and variety that comes with internet porn on high speed connections. Even not too long ago, porn mags were the source of all the solo fun and yet the variety and availability of that in no way compares to the internet today. So for me, it's not a moral thing, but an experiment in neuroscience. There is a lot more documentation on all of this all over the web, but the projected idea is that erectile dysfunction in young people is going to be a huge problem over the next few decades.
The picture above links to a Ted Talk by Philip Zimbardo. In the talk, he discusses the general idea of the demise of guys, the various factors that play in this issue and some data backing his claims up.
Anyway, my whole goal is to better my habits in general and decrease or maybe even get rid of any desensitization I have developed within myself. There were points in my past where I did have some level of porn addiction. Nowadays, I feel like I have a huge level of self-control, but I am interested in seeing how this will actually impact other areas of my life. Will I develop better habits or will I just suffer more? xD I don't see this as a permanent habit for me, but I guess I'll set a starting goal of 120 days, and then try to proceed forward from there. Just to see what happens. If I hit that point, then I'll decide whether or not I want to continue.
As for Day 1, it has been a breeze. Then again, I can usually go from 3 days to a week with no problems. Then it gets crazy...
And I swear, if I do a ton of long posts like this one and end up failing...I will be disappoint. :pissed:
Well done! Now how long can you last? :P I liken the refrain of regular masturbation to the opposite of quitting smoking. They say that the first 3 days are the hardest to quit smoking and then it's a breeze after that. When it comes to masturbation (no pun intended) the first 3 days are the easiest and then its a complete disaster-fest. Good Luck! :D
Anyway, I used to have some sort of porn addiction when I was on anti-depressants. I seriously couldn't jerk off without it because Prozac is known to cause reduced libido. Anyway, now that I have my libido back, jerking off is better with just my imagination and it seems like a healthier habit like you said.

I have something to say....
When did sexual deprivation become the newest fad? Seriously, just stop. It's unhealthy.
