What to do with my dog!?!?!

Sorry in advance for the long post.. please read I need some input on this I am going crazy

The other day my mom called me and she and my family are apparently at their wits end with my dog. She is a female German Shepard and 3 years old. I left her with them when I moved because I can not have a big dog in an apartment. Well she has never been the same since. I know she does not get the attention she was used to getting with me.

Since my visit about a month ago she has apparently gone crazy. She wont stay penned up in the yard she will break out or jump the fence. She will run out of the yard onto the Highway or she will end up next door at my sisters house. I stayed there when i was visiting so they seem to think that Bella is looking for me. It makes me sad and guilty for leaving. I wish I could have her with me.

Well, the point is my parents don\'t want her and their reason is good (even though i don\'t like it). She is not safe around my Grandma or my baby nephew. I know she would not intentionally hurt them but she is a big dog and gets excited easy. She is also used to getting a lot of one on one attention and getting what she wants. Yeah i guess i spoiled her. I just love her so much and it is breaking my heart that I don\'t know what to do.

Really the only option I have been playing around with is I can send her to Arkansas to be with my Aunt Cindy. She has two other German Shepards, a yard and a home where she can go in and out as she pleases. They are dog people since they never had children. Their dogs are their babies. I think she may learn to be happy there and get the attention that she needs but will she always yearn for me? Will she adjust because you would think that she would have adjusted to being with my parents over the last few months. The thought of that makes me even more sad! Yet another option is I can give up my life to be with my dog. I feel so selfish saying that. I just want the best situation for her. I don\'t want to bounce Bella around. I want her to be happy.

      What to do...

Does anyone love dogs as much as I do? Does anyone know of a perfect home for her? I am almost to the point that I will have her shipped out to me and then find her a home in FL. I just don\'t know anymore! I am so distraught about it!

Aunt Cindy. She'll be fine. It is your safety that matters.

I had a dog once. It got run over by a spaghetti truck.

That's sad, Yume, sorry to hear.

Sending her to your Aunt Cindy's sounds like the best option.

I'm the same way with my pets Lola, I understand.

I think she would be happy with Aunt Cindy's, but what if you moved from your apartment to a small rent house, or a duplex that will allow dogs? Especially if they have a backyard. Then at least she would be with you. If you are really desperate, it might be worth breaking your current lease and paying whatever fee to move someplace that will allow you to accomadate her.

Then Aunt Cindy can be like plan B.

Let us know how it works out.

Thanks for the response everyone. I have done some more research and most airlines don't fly in to Arkansas so If my Aunt can't pick her up in a neighboring state then I may just fly her out to FL and either find a place where I can keep her or find a good family for her here!!!

Lisa, I would love to get a place with a back yard and such so she could be with me... I have been trying to convince Wheelie of it for a while. Maybe i should push a little harder ehhh?
