depressed yet? that was a pretty cool video though. not trying to be a dick or anything. but how many of those 100 people would be murderers? how many of those people own a gun? how many people of those people are intolerent and willing to kill someone else who doesn't match their religion? seems to me when you go to alot of the poorest nations in the world. most people in those nations own a gun. of course i'm talking about in urban areas..hell probably rural too. now i'm not anti-religion, guns, or any of that. but if there were 100 people in this world. those numbers would dwindle down as fast as the 100 people could find each other. just the way the world is. EDIT: i should probably clarify that i am anti-murderering i was just being curious.

Yeah, I could have guessed my self that a lot of those statistics were false. But the message is still clear: be thankful for what you have, because by even being able to read this you are better off then most.

Thinking about it for a little bit... I realized that there was no mention of the languages people would speak. With only 100 people, no one wouls be ablt to understand each other. (OK that's an exageration, but communication would be really hard)

Yeah, it's a WAY old urban legend. Just to give you an idea of how wrong it is: 6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth, and all 6 would be from the United States. This claim demonstrates the precariousness of trying to summarize a very large, diverse population in a few simple statistics. For starters, our miniature world of 100 people only includes 5 people from all of North America, so any statement involving 6 people from the United States just doesn't compute!
