i thought i would post about some of the things that happened to me when i was little. i will only post one for right now, and then more later. this first one, happened to me when i was about 3. here is the story of "the black out"

when i was little my grandma owned a motel, and one day we had a power failure. the catch is, I caused it. i decided to do something REALLY stupid. i couldn't walk yet, so i decided to crawl over to the light socket and put my finger in it.

BIG MISTAKE, i got shocked, and not just a small one either. it was a big enough to knock out ALL THE POWER TO THE MOTEL, and to launch me ACROSS the room and straight into the wall. at first no one knew what happened, the power went out, and then there was a thud. the thud was me landing on the floor.

everyone went to get flashlights, since there was no power. they then went to find the noise, and they found me on the floor not moving. they couldn't wake me up, so they called the paramedics and the ambulance, and away we went to the emergency room.

they put me in the ambulance, and hooked me up to all the monitors that show your life signs and all that stuff. i was fine at first, then the paramedics start yelling that i have no pulse/brain activity. they try cpr and everything, but it doesn't seem to work. they pronouce me clinicly dead and are about to unhook the machines. after a few minutes, things get weird, and they say that i have a pulse again somehow and that i was ok.

it wasn't over yet though, i go back to having no pulse/heartbeat/brain activity. they try cpr AGAIN, AND AGAIN it fails. after a few more minutes, i once again have a pulse somehow and seem fine. this happens about 2 or 3 more times on the way to/at the hospital.

by the end i got to leave the hospital, and was just fine. the thing is, NO ONE knows how i survived the whole thing. the doctors, the paramedics, no one could figure out the mystery. it was one weird experience to be sure.

so, what are some of the wierd/scary/funny things that you did when you were young? i will share more later, but enough for now.

Heh, yours is a hard act to follow! ...and I've had a lot more weird things happen to me as I got older than when I was younger...

I remember having to drive my mom to the hospital when I was 10 years old. We lived out in the boonies and the hospital was about 15 miles away. So not only was I 10 years old, having to drive a car that far, but also in an emergency situation. Maybe that's where I developed the excellent driving skills I now possess...

      ---

Also, I remember when I was about 9 years old, I was over at my grandma's house and we were outside in the front yard. It was nighttime, probably around 9pm in February or March so it was dark out.

I was looking up into the sky because I've always loved star-gazing. It was a crystal clear night and I could see every star in the star, and also the creaminess of the Milky Way - this was also out in the boonies, so there is no light pollution out there...

Anyway, in one small part of the sky, I saw a greenish color haze. I pointed it out to my mom who was outside with me. As we watched the color started spreading - greens and blues and purples. My mom went inside and got my grandma so she could see what we were seeing.

Within a period of about 10 minutes, the colors stretched across the ENTIRE night sky, including reds and yellows - all the colors of the light spectrum. The colors were moving and changing like a lava lamp. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. Of course, we were seeing the Northern Lights (aurora borealis).

The 3 of us watched transfixed as the colors that covered every inch of the night sky reached a pitch, then it started fading away. In another 5-7 minutes, it was completely gone.

I know this was not a dream, as I've talked to my mom and grandma about the experience later. If only we had cell phone camera back then. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

when i was like.. 6 years old, i attempted to make a time machine...

i got these broken electric wires from my grandpa... with loose copper wires on one end, and the plug on the other (to put it in the wall, you know, so that electricity runs through) it had a switch.

      so... what did i do?

i put 2 chairs against each other, their backs facing away from each other (so the seating-area of the 2 chairs touched). now these chairs were made from reed (don't know whether it's the correct word though, it's a material resembling oversized, darker, and stronger straw ), and it had four little, diamond-shaped (as in the card game) holes in it's back.
in these holes i had somehow stuck in my toy-story watch.
I connected the electricity wires to the watch, and plugged it in...

and now comes that which you've all seen coming from a mile away:

i put the switch to "on"

      I didn't receive a shock

my parents did when the lights, and everything else went out, and when they saw me standing terrified. (since awhole lot of sparks came off)...

that was the day i killed my family by causing their heart attacks...

      just kidding...

yeah... but it was pretty freaky...
