Hey all. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

I sent to all the staff members coal because I know first hand how they can be. lol
I customized each piece according to how bad each member is. The only issue was
seeker's. UPS would not ship a piece that large.

Anyways I thought people may want to share what they have given and what they received.

For my wife I refinished and very old antique desk. Flat iron and a bunch small stuff.
I made a mock PET and FMRI scan of my own brain and mailed it to her from a made up University. It detailed each origin of the brain and where memory goes I would implement important memories, smell, emotions...you get the point.

I got two books that i am highly excited to read. I had a chance today and sit back and begin the one.. The undiscovered Self. It is a translated book of Jung's symbols and interpretations of dreams.
- The other is, Staying human in an engineered age. Talking about genetic manipulation, cloning and all sorts of things in relation to that.

Keeping with the book theme, perhaps my least uninteresting gift was a four-volume English copy of an old Chinese epic, Water Margin / Outlaws Of The Marsh. It takes Amazon 4-6 weeks to get from their suplliers in Beijing, and clocking in at over 2000 pages, it should keep me going for a while.

I got books too. People who know me know that they can never go wrong if they get me a book. I'll read almost anything.

Also got some studio lights so that I can start taking some serious light controlled photos. OH, got a diamond nose stud. Shiney... :bravo:

I suck at giving gifts, so I gave most of my friends gift cards. My dad though I got an iPod Nano. Hes been using my iPod more then me I got my friend Sarah a really cool black denim jacket that I saw her looking at.

I got a really nice stereo system. The bass is soo strong, it shakes the house!!!

I gave my sister a movie, my cousin a movie, my parents movies. Movies are easy, and people like to watch them.

You think 16 euros per grandparent is bad? Dude, I got €2.40 and a second hand book that's two generations old in 2005's Christmas from my only living grandparent. Grr.

Anyway, I got a Wii, stuff for it and 2048 MB RAM

hmm...

Chocolate
A box of Oreos. (it might sound weird, but last time we were in america, my boyfriend and i kept eating them, so that was kinda a joke present)

The whole televised version of The Stand on VHS (which i'm told is really rare now, cos you can't hardly get it anywhere, he had to buy it from a seller on Amazon)

a 1GB mp3 player!!! i was well chuffed with that.
A richard thompson cd
A sandy denny CD (i forgot he knew i liked those two)
And a cd of a band we went to see live, in our local jazz cafe.

Also, two painting by numbers kits. (simply cos he knows i like to do them)

For him i got

A box of chocolates
two stephen king novels
And a cd that he's been going on about for the last six months! lol

now i'm trying to figure out valentine's day...

been meaning to read "the undiscovered self" howetzer...hopefully i'll remember to ask you how it was.

---
sole gift is as follows:

my brother gave me 2 ceramic cats with extraordinarily demented looks on their faces. they are roughly four feet tall, black, and were procured at the local dump, hehe.

all i have to do is fill them with cement, and they6 shall make attractive bookends.

p.s. my grandparents are all dead, but i'm still choked they didn't send money from beyond the grave.

My girlfriend gave me a really cool wooden necklace with a bunch of circles on it. It's so me, she really hit the jackpot, if I had seen it in the store I would have been drooling over it. It was a really unexpected surprise because she got me a necklace before and it was that cat from the 'Baby Phat' logo and it's all diamond-looking and stuff and that is sooooooo not me.

You sound just like Brooke, my wife. It is like ya or nay with what she likes. It makes it hard to buy for sometimes, but I would have it know other way.

I got "Der Mond - Art of Neon Genesis Evangelion" by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.

i was a bit dissappointed. i expected a concept art book, showing EVERYTHING... what i got was a book which focused on the 3 main characters, each spanning an enormous amount of pages, while the minor characters got the occasional one page in between.

However, it was still a great book... great artwork...

My dad came through for me and bought me the #1 item on my list:

THROWING KNIVES. (I need to start playing with those.)

I also received clothes, the movie "Cars," and when my sister and I went shopping for each other the day before Christmas I had her buy me a Naruto calendar. I also took the gift certificate my brother gave me and bought the vol. 7 Naruto DVD... which I'm hoping will be here tomorrow.
