What the hell are fountain drinks? |
So, to add on to the Pepsi/Coke poll, for those of you that do drink soda, which of these sources of carbonated goodness do you prefer? I'm asking this question as to taste. For example: don't say that you like bottled because you can close and reopen it later. |

I prefer cans of the options above; the metal keeps gives the drink a colder taste, provided that it has been in the fridge or freezer for a while. But I'm using a 32oz (1 litre) metal thingie to drink from. I don't know what it is called, but it is used for baking. |
That's why I prefer cans too. It also holds the fizz better because you have to drink it right away, and can't reopen and close it ten times until it loses all the fizz like a bottle. I think that can and fountain are mostly tied except the cool feeling of the can wins. But if glass bottle were an option I'd vote for that just because those glass coke bottles from the past look so cool. |
I think cans taste better. I have fountain pop constantly at work (Pizza hut) it's nothing special. I don't mind bottles, but I think cans are better. |

I prefer fountains, since they don't have the plastic taste that bottles have. I don't really care if someone with a decease drinks from the same fountain. I can't catch diceases due to my incredible omg-lolness. |

eh, maybe fountain drinks aren't big outside of the US. Basically it's just a machine that mixes the carbonated water and the pop syrup as it's pouring into your cup. That way the company providing the machine can buy the syrup and the carbonated water seperately. |
any idea where you can buy the syrup? that would be pretty cool to be able to make custom soda with the syrup stuff, and its probably cheaper than regular soda (not that i actually drink enough that it matters). |
cans just seem to taste nicer and re normally colder with a shaper taste whereas bottles seem warm kind of bland but i dont really care that much |
*shrugs* honestly.. I can't even tell the diference. Though, for some reason I always go for tap water. |
Canned. |

Okay, for you guys who don't know what a fountain is, here: |
I've been to the US and seen them a lot (and they rock), but I never knew they were called fountains. I thought of them as super express vending machines or waterholes of carbonated glory. Not fountains. |
That's a softwater machine, not a fountain! They're in all resturants in Denmark. |

Ah, yes. I never knew they were called fountains, but they're pretty common here in the Neverlands. |
I find this really interesting. No one from europe has any idea what this fountain thing is, but when shown a picture of what is called a fountain in america, they suddenly realize that they have that exact thing everywhere too, and it is just a naming difference. I was wondering howcome nobody knew what those were. It didn't make sense that only america has them, but the different names explains everything. It's funny how a naming difference can cause such confusion between people. |

I'm sorry to rain on the enlightenment parade, PenguinLord, but we don't actually have them here. |
