Has anyone else heard about Drew Carey replacing Bob Barker as the host of The Price is Right? I dont know if the show is internationally broadcast, but for anyone who watches the show, what do you think of the selection? I really dont find Drew Carey funny. I hated that show he did, Whose Line is it Anyway. I dont think he is the right fit for the show. I guess I'm grateful that the new host is not Rosie O'Donnell. I hope the show doesn't die out. I've watched it since I was a little kid and really love watching it whenever I can. Nobody can replace Bob Barker, and it will be interesting to see how the show changes.

I think Drew Carey is ok as far as laid back comedy (not outrageously hilarious or anything). But I don't think ANY comedian would fit the format of the show. Bob Barker had a likeable quality that wasn't based on sense of humor, it was more courteous and polite personality that people liked. If they want to "humor" up the show, they might as well go all out and get Gilbert Gottfried!

I havn't really followed the story since they said Rosie wasn't doing it (thank God). The show will never be the same without Bob Barker and I feel bad for whoever has to follow in his footsteps because they have a huge role to fill. I don't think Drew Carey would do good because that role requires someone like Bob who can be funny but also a good game show host, instead of being all about being funny. They should probably just show reruns instead of trying to save the show.

I guess I'm grateful that the new host is not Rosie O'Donnell. amen to that, brother. I don't care who it is, as long as it's not her. I wonder if Drew Carey will carry on the "Have your pets spayed and neutered" tagline at the end?

In the UK, Joe Pasquale recently replaced Bruce Forsyth. I honestly don't think he's as good...

He never intentionally tried to make jokes. I dont know why they went with a comedian, what is he gonna do, his stand up routine during the commercial breaks? I dont think Drew Carey will change anything too much because he has so much pressure on him. As long as Wayne Brady is not his co-host, I think he'll do fine. I'll still watch it every day that I am sick for as long as it is on air.

Before the Price is Right, Bob Barker hosted a few game shows. So it wasn't like he was a nobody who just ended up with the job. I think they were thinking the same thing w/ Drew Carey.

Yeah Barker and Carey are two completely different personalities. I dont think it will be as bad as it sounds. Carey really doesnt wanna be the person who ruined a game show thats been on for 35 years or somethin like that.
