That was a pretty cool movie. That would be wierd with that lucid dreaming company. What if one day you were told you had died and were now frozen?

it was a good movie but i feel like dey didn't research dreams enough u no... because time was pretty consistent in his dream and the literature wasn't messed up..

If they would have explained more and done more research the movie would have been really long, but its still a bad ass movie

I liked this movie. I was a little creeped out by the... well, the name that's revealed at the end. I don't want to spoil it for others, but I think you guys know what I mean. That was like "woah... what the hell?" I love movies like this, that keep you thinking until the end.

If I hadn't seen Abre los Ojos (the movie Vanilla Sky was based on) I would say it kicks ass. It is not a bad movie but I recommend Abre los Ojos (Open your Eyes) a whole lot more. It's not as sugar-coated as Vanilla Sky. First time I saw it I was genuinely sad. As a plus, Penelope Cruz has the same role in it.

Oh so true Prophetian. Although I enjoyed the movie after initially seeing it in the theaters, the more I talked and thought about it, the less I enjoyed it. The ending went into way too much detail, almost force feeding one the explanation. But hey, what do I know?

see i disagree because they don't have to really explain it they could jus show that the clocks weren't consistent or that they were distorted, or even that in writing the letters get distorted and that probably would've added like 2 seconds to the movie... because in the movie he was still able to read and the time was pretty consistent but i have this annoying habit of nitpicking at movies it's still pretty good tho

Finally! Got around to watching this movie last night!

The part in the beginning where he left his apartment and nobody was on the street! Way cool, it felt like an LD, but as others have said, if the images at times square would have distorted, it would have been better.

I especially liked where he was in the bar talking with the guy from tech support. Kind of neat when he welled that he wanted everyone to shut up and they did and just looked at him.

I wonder where you can get one of those alarm clocks that tell you "Open your eyes" in a soft, sultry voice?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Even then, a lot of people still said that they didn't get it. Darn the non-educated hoardes.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

Yeah, I also liked "Abre los Ojos" much better, but Vanilla Sky is ok. Anyway, they use the concept of lucid dreaming to explain what is going on, but it really has nothing to do with LDing. Not at all. For one, he isn't aware that it is not real. Secondly, supposedly the "board of directors" or whatever can monitor what is going on and enter his dreams(althought this is only as real as the concept of being able to give him a dream life the way they do).

Anyway, lucid dreaming is not the term I would have used for what they gave him...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Eh, trust me there's not a lot of fun in that...
