Does Texas really have gigantic spiders? I was told that they have banana spiders. And I was also told that they didn't. Both by people who have lived there. If they do, then I'm definitely crossing Texas off of my list of places to travel to...

      What about you? West? North?

If you live out in the country (like I used to) then yes there are shitloads of banana spiders and others....

However, in the cities I have barely seen any while living there. If your wanting to avoid places because of spiders, hehe, then I suggest not moving to florida...you can't take a step without tripping over daddy long legs...oh, and if you have a problem with spiders watching you shower...lol not a good idea to move to FL either.

I went to U of Waterloo, so during those 5 years, it was back and forth. I took a job offer in Seattle shortly after that, but not before spending one more summer. I go back home every now and then. Gotta show up for JFL.

Right on, I love Vancouver. Great atmosphere, really clean, and all that. I just want this snow to be gone, haha.

Woes, Florida is such an awesome state it is worth dealing with the spiders, even being bitten by them. If you have never been to a Florida beach, you need to make a point to go to one at least once in your life. In a lot of the panhandle, the sand is about as white as sand gets and the water is very clear and bluish green. You have to go to Pensacola and beyond to see what I am talking about. I think the beach in Sandestin is literally the best in the world.

I love Sandestin. Wish I could go spend another month down there on the beach. Those little towns about an hour north of Orlando are pretty nifty, too. Nice small communities there.

I was born in Danbury, Connecticut, but only lived there for like 2 months. My parents are born and raised southerners, and I lived in the South for 19 years 10 months out of my 20 year life.

You know Danbury? Its the place in the movie Blow where George Jung (Johnny Depp) went to prison after being caught with Marijuana.

Lol maybe there are "some" beaches that are nice in Florida...but all of the ones i've been to have been over run with disgusting fast food restuarants and other stupid lil things that it makes me wanna puke. As if the smell of the beach isn't bad enough, they have to add foreign odors too.

What you talking about, Willis? You are screwing up my Florida tourism conspiracy. The beaches smell great, and so does fast food. There are no fast food places on Pensacola Beach, and the same is true about a bunch of other beach areas, especially the rural areas between towns. Those are just pure wilderness by the road. Destin and Panama City are a completely different story, but I think major civilization by beaches is a good thing.

Guess where most of the giant Chinese cities are located. Guess we're rid of our 'overpopulation' problem.

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. I lived in Exton, PA at the time, which you may recognise as "the gateway to the Amish Country". Interestingly, I may be attending a summer camp in Bryn Mawr this summer.

The real problem is global cooling. The development is going to be too far away from the ocean when the glaciers get bigger, and that is going to piss off the business owners. I know that global cooling worry is so 1970's, but it is going to be back in style again. I'm on the cutting edge.

I'll take the coast of Georgia and the Carolinas, myself. Florida is just too overbuilt, and full of Floridians XP
