I'm confused lol.

How does your street system work? I have been looking around at Hotels and stuff in New York for a quick weekend break, and someone said to me about 58th Street this and 85th Street that and about what vacinity to stay in.

In England we just name our roads after dead people and flowers lol.

I guess what I really need to know is if I am flying out there, where is the best area to stay in to be pretty local to everything? I know I cannot be close to everything, but I have no clue about New York. I have looked on Expedia for some help and they have a lot of places to stay like Central Park, Broadway etc, but don't know what is where, so wondered if I could get some inside information from you guys who know New York?
