While I was digging through old photographs I found one that jerked a memory in my head. About 2 years ago in january I went up to burns lake, BC. While there I went on a hike, I came across a set of prints which looked like nothing I've ever seen. So I'm gonna post it up here and hope some of you can help id it. Hope you can help!!! Yeah, that's a small black bear track. Nothing really too unusual. |
bear, not human. to way small to be a grizzly so yea a black bear (club?) |

Well I just want to let you guys/gals know that I'm an avid nature enthusiast and of course the first thing I would do would be to looks for tracks of other animals in the area to match them. This track is too thin to be a bear track, aswell there are no claws visible on the tracks. The one thing that proves this wrong without a doubt is the gait which isn't that of a black bear. Also the heel and pad are sunken more into the snow than the toes which leads me to believe that it has long toes, and only four of them. It's a human footprint distorted by the sand it was imprinted into. |

MoS, I must ask-- Why are their .22 shells in your sig? |
I'm guessing they go with the gun. |
....think about it, its a .22 so there for it has .22 shells next to it. of course you may have been fooled by its size, alot of .22's are larger than most people think, is that what fooled you? |
I should think it was obvious: |
Ah, the gun looks like a higher Calibur that's why I asked. |

Sorry to resurrect this dead thread but I am 100% sure this isn't a bear track. I have the photo, time of years and gait description yet you still say bear. Aer there any animals trackers or any one in that profession here? |
You sure it's not manmade? Don't know what else it could be, those claw marks in a straight line are pretty distinctive... |

What indicates to you that I want it to be something else? Of all the people on these forums (not naming any) I would be the one least likely to continue a thread just because I want to trick people or anything. I'm not claiming it's a werewolf or bigfoot. I'm just confident that it isn't a bear track. For reasons previously stated. |

Well you asked for the forum opinion, we all think its a bear. If you don't, post on somewhere relevant. Like, a forum dedicated too animal tracking. |
